On the bright side, anytime you fix an elusive bug, you learn a little more about the system/s (quirks etc.). I know they'll get to the bottom of the stuttering, and once they do, I'm sure it will make upcomming patches easier to implement.
The elusive bugs you can't fix keeps JackDaniels in business :D

WTG Etch. I went though what your going through when WBIII was first released. In the end I learned a WHOLE lot about what makes the toybox tick. It's still kicks my butt, but the more you learn, the more you enjoy fiddling.
I'll admit tho, fiddling is a "once in a while" venture.
Wouldn't enjoy it as a full time job ;)
It will be solved on their end, OR on your end. Prolly alittle of both.
Keep the faith.

This is by no means an "I told ya so" post. But I do think the reason that hard drive access made some machines stutter and not others, has to be looked at. Its either sometihng in the hardware or system setup, and I think it would make future patches easier if the reason was nailed down.
