From time to time it happens that I can hear the reload sounds of (near?) tanks while flying in a plane
-
Almost the same here, I was in a pnzr and a friendly was 5k away and I could hear the reload sound as if it was my tank.
Thought for a moment my sounds were goin funky on me until he got killed and they stopped.
Even checked my ammo counter to make sure it wasn't me. :D
-
I have also noticed when attacking a cv I can here the manned guns firing
-
This is intentional, fellas.

Seems the enemy tank fire should be a bit quieter, hearing a tank fire in the cockpit at 5k alt is a bit much. How come it doesn't have the doppler effect like nme aircraft fire?

I have noticed the same thing. Flying a couple of thousand feet over a tank I can hear the reload sound.
How could this possibly be intentional MetaTron? Please explain your statement.

I am well aware they added the tankfire. I can hear it. I'm actually glad they added it, I'd just like distant tankfire to have the same doppler effect I get with most other weapons in the game.
HiTech, Pyro, there any chance this will be changed? I'm guessing this is pretty low on your overall priorities right now (hell, i hope it is), but I think it'd be a great change. My 2 cents.

Would have to look, but fairly sure it would have a dopler effect.

I always try to look for similar posts before I do a new post. But it's too much to have an overview.

I have no problem with the muzzle sound of a tank firing but should I hear the round being loaded in the chamber--it’s the high pitched "clunk" of the round being loaded that annoys me...
Obviously I'm talking about when flying and NOT when in a panzer...

I Agree you shouldn't hear the reload, but at time of the writeing were both in the same sound file. Wasn't worth holding a release patch of for spliting the sounds.
Today I seperated the fire, and reload piece of the sounds, so in the next patch you will only here the Fire sound externaly.

HiTech
does this mean our old mitsu sounds with the full operation wont work right?
meaning will the patch not overwrite what sounds we allready have?
if i keep the mitsu sound and somone fires a tank below my plane i will still hear the reload since it's built into the sound.
or is it possible that if the sound file is too long in time the game will mute the rest of the sound?
hard to type out and explain but i think you know what i mean.

73,
If i get what you're saying, I think* you could use just about any sound editor/recorder to separate the sounds at a good spot, then figure out what to name them by going through the sounds folder, and making the applicable changes. At least, back in AH1, I pulled sounds from other games and stuff I found on the 'net, then cut/looped/mixed them to get the effect I wanted in AH. Assuming* HT doesn't make any major changes to sounds overall, it should still be pretty simple to do.
