Anyone having problems with vid card fps jumping very high and low? I have an ATI 9700 All in wonder pro and I am getting up to 75 fps but it will jump down to 6 or 15 in one second and I get a freeze for like two seconds when it does it. It will do it anytime time it feels like it and no real special times? I have tried everything. I have built over 70 PC’s and I am an IT tech but I can’t get this to stop. Tried 4 different drivers and still no good. Anyone have any ideas? I can run 1024 textures and turn the card all the way up and don’t really lose fps it’s the fps spread that’s killing me even if its on default setting on card and game. I have a new case and PS coming in and I am hoping it might be the heat if they don’t work I have not got any more ideas do you? Its starting to really get to me cuz it’s almost like a black out but worst.

You don't have anything else that could be starting, robbing cpu cyles for a sec or 2, then stopping again??

Booting absolutly clean?

A suggestion.

Start task manager, start AH, up a plane and leave on auto, alt-tab to desktop and monitor cpu and mem usage under the processes tab to see if some other program is hitting the cpu.

you don't happen to have fast writes on in BIO's by any chance.

If you do disable it. maybe that will help and turn down the textures from 1024 to 512 or lower.

 just some suggestion I've read.
