Title: Tips for installing Windows
Post by: Kev367th on July 06, 2004, 09:02:17 PM
I believe a correction is required.
My ATI card (9800) requires that DX9 be installed BEFORE the drivers.

Not sure about installing the Service Packs before the chipset drivers, I always start off with the basics eg chipset then work way up.

Think a lot depends on your setup, e.g. nForce 2 mobos it is recommended to install ATI drivers, disable the hotkey poller and ATI smart services. Reboot then run the ATI smart service manually to obtain best/stable performance.

Overall it was very informative, for specific setup always worth searching web for forums.

P.S. this is NOT a criticism of the post, just some extra information.
