what the rule of law means to those with the weapons and the power. again.

The Palis can bring down the wall, on their own, very easily. Stop attacking.

Amen. It's about time, too.

how dare they take action to hinder suicide bombers. besides, all those israeli women and kids asked for it. plo and hezbollah leadership told me so. the nerve of those jews, wanting to not be killed and all.

Interesting views. But the issue is not an Isreali wall. Its the location of it through Palistinian territory, if they want the wall why not put it allong the border of isreal. Oh ya. that would lock out all the settlers that have stolen palistinian land and provoked the terrorists in the first place.
But why confuse the issue. Isreal good and can ignore with US vetos any UN preasure, Palistinians bad.
palistinians that give thier lives to try to get a secure homland for thier people, cowards. Isreali helicopter pilots who shoot missles from 6 km away..heros..
its all clear cut. So you think that Isreal, being so clearly in the right would willingly submit to the international court. Cause the case for thier wall through occupied territory is so clearly in thier favour.

Why would Israel hand over it's national security to a world court? The US wouldn't.
Kerry would, which is the primary reason I'm not voting for him.

Why is the territory occupied? (Because the palis keep killing Isrealies)

if plo or hezbollah had a nuke theyd pop it in tel aviv as soon as they could get it on scene. israel has firepower to kill every pal woman and kid and they could do it before sufficient force could be mobilized to stop them. they havent. are you being dense on purpose? whats going to get more noncombatants killed? taking a battalion and raiding an apartment building in gaza to get some bomb maker or putting a hellfire thru his bedroom window? ill make it simple. ill wear a plo tshirt in tel aviv for two weeks straight. you wear idf tshirt in gaza for two weeks. guess who will get beaten and probably killed by fanatics. have you ever been to israel?

If the PLO don't like it they can go back to Jordan. It's what...a three mile walk?
Oh, wait....Jordan don't want them either. I guess they'll have to hike to Syria. I'm sure they'll welcome them with open arms.

Im surprised the wall wasn't up years ago - screw the "world court"

Do you mean those israeli who shouldnt live on polestines land ?

Got a group of Palestinians staging a hunger strike near my workplace to protest the wall. I hope they are left alone to carry it through to it's inevitable conclusion. One of their signs struck me as very ironic: "Palestinian children have a right to live too". How many innocents have died at the hands of Pali suicidal bombers??
:( :( :(

Israel kicked their tulips fair 'n' square when the Arabs tried to obliterate Israel during the 7-day war. The land rightfully belongs to Israel. Palis are there only by Israel's good graces.

Ya the palistinians are lucky the isrealis didnt just kill them all in the 1940s like they deserved.

Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!

the territory is occupied because, in the words of Haaretz's setlement correspondent, Nadav Shragai:
"Morally, historically and religiously, the right of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel, takes precedence over the right of other peoples here."

About half as many as innocent Palestinians who have died at the hands of the IDF.

The wall wasn't up years ago because the right wing in Israel doesn't agree with it. For the first time, it puts limits on the size of Israel, and acknowledges that Israel won't be able to absorb the entire West Bank. Sharon, who is pushing a plan to pull out of Gaza is now having his security stepped up because there are widespread fears in Israel that someone from one of the right wing settler groups will try to kill him, as happened to Rabin.

I thought land belonged to people who owned it, not foreign governments who decide to sieze it.

half as many innocent palestinians? whos counting and who figured out they were innocent and by that i mean noncombatant? the same people who broke the story of the "massacre" in jenin that never took place?

So you are saying that the east germans put up the wall to stop western terrorists from killing the citizens of east germany?
You know not even the communist propaganda I grew up with suggested something like that! WTG comrade!!!
-
Be careful of the 'Righfully belong to' statement. Israel was created not long after WW11 by the League of Nations who 'gave' the land without any thought for future consequences.

The figures are based on ICT's:
http://www.ict.org.il
ICT is an Israeli "anti-terrorism" research orginisation. It's controlled by various senior establishment figures in Israel. For example, it's management board of 3 men contains 1 ex director of Mossad, 1 former director of the Israeli foreign affairs ministry and advisor to the Israeli PM, and the head of the research institue where it's based.
It's board of trustees are mainly ex IDF, Mossad, Shin Bet and senior figures from Israeli industry.
ICT claims the figures are 985 Palestinian non combatants killed by Israel, 715 Israeli non combatants killed by Palestinians.
However, ICT distorts the true figures.
You can easily see some of the cases where they distort the figures by looking throught their database of incidents.
They have the date of the intifada begining as 27/09/2000.
The first 3 incidents are:
Sgt. David Biri,, a soldier in the IDF, part of a military patrol in the Gaza strip, killed by a Palestinian bomb. He was armed, on duty, in occupied territory, taking part in a military operation. The ICT lists him as a "non combatant".
The second incident consisted of a riot on Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Israeli police shot 6 rioters dead. None were armed, the ICT list all 6 as combatants.
The third incident was the shooting of an Israeli border policeman by a Palestinian policeman. The Israeli policeman was armed, on active duty in Palestinian territory, again he is listed as a non combatant.
That's just the first 3 incidents of the intifada, but similar "standards" are used frequently.
And even they admit the Israelis have killed far more innocents than the Palestinians have. (And this doesn't even count the Palestinians who are denied medical care because of Israeli road closures and destruction of infrastructure)

who's law is this anyway? I mean how many elected Isreali's had anything to do with it? If I were Isreali I'd be laughing at this. Maybe the UN will enforce it with thier army, oops wait....... :rofl

The israelis are putting up the wall in an attempt to stop terrorists from blowing up their people. The east germans put up the wall so they could keep their people from running away from east german totalitarianism..

The palistinians need to find a better way to voice their grievences with the jews. Blowing up public transit buses
just is not going to work. It simply will not work.
I cannot blame the jews for wanting to separate from the palistinians. If this fence or wall can provide better security then so be it. What would the cost in lives be if Isreal decided to expel the palistinians under threat of force?
The palistinians need to evlove out of pure hatred to succeed, then again...I think they enjoy being killed as much as they enjoy killing.
God is Great

The wall and the tactic of target killing terrorist leaders is working.
In 2002 there were 25 major suicide bomber attacks which killed 147 people. 2003 there were 20, killing 141. So far in 2004 there has been 2, killing 19.
Meanwhile in March 2004 alone the IDF stopped 73 attack attempts at checkpoints.
