According to this article:
http://www.trektoday.com/news/090704_04.shtml
The next Trek movie might be about the old Earth-Romulan war. That would put it a few years after Enterprise and around a hundred years before Kirk.
Interesting to see if they could make it good. #10 was pretty bad, hopefully Berman and Braga can let someone good call the shots?
-
I'd pay to see it...hope it turns out, but I'm still pissed they killed Data, that was BS maaaaan
Kinda sad to hear about James Doohan (Scotty), though, :(
-
Trek has been going downhill since Voyager. DS9 - Star Trek on a space station,,,,hmmmnot much of a trek is it.
Last decent movies were The Wrath of Khan, and the Voyage Home IMO.
-
I kind of like DS9, new twist...voyager sucked though...I didn't mind First Contact....
We'll see how it goes...

The Wrath of Kahn - best Star Trek movie ever !!!
Best line ever ...

The enemy warship had somethig like 52 torpedo bays, 30+ phaser arrays, 4 hulls...some off the chain stats...kinda like the Niki iin AH1..pure UFO material.

Dammit, just watched Enterprize 3-24... f***ing endings...got to wait now :o
-
RE: the 3-24 ending
My first reaction was 'WTF?!' followed by 'Space Nazi's Must DIE!'
I am hoping it will turn out to be an Avian and that we'll find out the reason the Avians died and the Xindi world was destroyed (it's right about the same time as when their world was blown up) was because the Avians were complicit with the temporal cold war peeps, like the Sulaban in the future.
Then I thought 'Hey, maybe that's a Reman from Nemesis and the Earth-Romulan war was related to the temporal cold war', but the pictures don't quite match.

my favorite trek music is the Klingon score in startrek I when the Klingons are going after V-ger. I use it as my start up music
-
That's good music, but my favorite is the Battle in the Mutara Nebula from Khan. James Horner, and it's so tense and perfect, I've written lots of software to it at 3AM in the morning, and it keeps my pumped, focused, and on target.

He was quoting Captain Ahab in Melville's Moby Dick.

Chairboy, any word for a date on the 4th season?
-
Thanks PEI, was hoping I wasn't the only one who knew that. If you want pure spite and hatred, read Ahab's lines from Moby Dick. That dude had major issues. :rofl
-
LOL ya know I kept telling myself that even though I played an online game at the age of 23 I was till cool. Now that there is a star trek thread all hope is lost, but yeah im looking forward to the new movie.

The man was obsessed with tracking down and killing a giant white sea-monster with Dick in it's name: Freud would have had a field day.

The last few Trek movies seemed more like 2 hour tv episodes. I liked them but they were lacking alot.
-
Am I the only one who thinks Nemisis rocked?..Best ST since Voyage Home.

Yep, Captain Ahab in Moby Dick....
Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee. Sink all coffins and all hearses to one common pool! and since neither can be mine, let me then tow to pieces, while still chasing thee, though tied to thee, thou damned whale! Thus, I give up the spear!

OMG this is like a BBS version of that Star Wars queue with the dog-puppet abusing the 35 year old virgins living with their mothers....

No, actually, this is a great thread...

Man, do a couple shots of whiskey, go to your favorite streetcorner and bellow Ahab's speech from "The Quarterdeck". Now that's entertainment.
