Just installed win xp pro, dl'ed ah2005 and installed, dl'ed dx9b & installed. when I start Ah2 I get a black screen, then black screen with small white triangles in top 2 corners, then black screen and dump to desktop. Was running AH2 on 98se, no probs (besides a truly sucky rig).
Any help?

Too little ram with no room left on hardrive for virtual memory plus a low end machine. Try clearing some space on your HD.

I have the same problem on both my laptop and on my friends laptop.
My Specs are: GeForce 2 GO 32MB, PIII 1.1GHz, DX9b, Latest hardware drivers. Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 8100 running on W2K SP4. 512 MB SDRAM
my Friends is a P4, with a GeForce4mx GO 64MB, Also latest hardware drivers, also DX9b 512MB DDR RAM, running on Windows XP Home, latest updated installed.
Both systems have the same problem, start, go black show a white screen real quick and then drop back on desktop. Tried the solutions from the FAQ of changing FPS settings. Does not change anything.
Any clues? all AH versions before were running perfectly on my Laptop so I don't know whats wrong. Any ideas are welcome.

From the MS webpage the Windows XP Pro System Req's are:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/evaluation/sysreqs.mspx
Here's What You Need to Use Windows XP Professional
• PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended
• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features
• 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space
• Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor.
• CD-ROM or DVD drive.
• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
You're going to be running rough until you feed your O/S some RAM. I am running XP Home Edition and I have 1GB RAM with many gigs of free diskspace. You DON'T want Windows trying to page to the harddrive while AH is running or you will never see the end of frame freezing and stutters - you might as well be running automatic update in background then.

have over 300 MB in ram free for AH and also 10G+ free on the hard drive, both CPUs are over 1 GHz. on my Laptop I know I disabled it, so that can't be it.
Might it be that the Laptop TFT Monitors cause the problem?
