Hi guys,
OK the time for tomorrow's dry runwill be 7:30 to 9:30 CST, its the best we can do for euros and west coast (5:30 PM on the W.C.)
a little time conflict has arisen in that it is diffivult to find a compromise time when both euros and west coasters can fly at the same time on tuesdays. Originally i had 9-11 PM CST, but how big a problem for you west coasters would it be if we moved it to 7-9 or 7:30-9:30? I just wanna get the best compromise that is best for everyone.
also, tomorrow is gonna be another "dry run", Hopefully this time we can stick to the ROE at http://www.iit.edu/~buonmic/med.htm (http://www.iit.edu/~buonmic/med.htm) and see how they work in practice before they get made official, there might be tweaks necessary so I wanna see how it goes bbefore it "counts".
And lastly, get your friends to sign up, we still have alot of bomber and allied slpots open, so start recruiting (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Zig, dry run at what time?
-
I wanna see if the euros and west coasters can ag ree on a time, would 7:30 to 9:30 be ok for everyone?
-
hiya Zig:
7:30 to 9:30 is ok for me, but no sooner then that. I know it is hard to set something up that works for all, but with all the differant times, it just won't happen.

Good hunting my friends, the tuesday-time is so unfriendly for us Euro-fliers. Cya on Saturday (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

1930 CST is 0230 in Spain. I don't think I'll make it.
Cheers,
Pepino.

7:30 CST is about an hour too early for me (west coast). (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
I doubt this time even would suit the Euros (too late). I'm not sure you can make a compromise 'tween the 2 groups on a week night.
Seperate nights where the times suited each group well, plus some day on the weekend where it suited both would be my suggestion.
-
oops... 7:30 CST is 6:30 on the west coast.. That time is fine with me.
So ah... nevermind (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
-
Not that I wanna make myself too smart on the US timezones, but aren't CST 2 hours from the west coast, with the mountain time in between?
Anyway the change of times means I actually think I can participate in this event, but, ironically, most likely only on the tuesday as the Euro "friendly" time saturday is not so friendly into my schedule.

Zigrat,
For some reason I thought the 7:30 time was PST, so I have to step down from FL for P47's. My apologies.
-
Argh,
it seems impossible to find a compromise for both the west coast and the euros (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) I will update you all on the time for tonights meeting after oI get home and have a chance to talk to busc. I wanna get maximum participation and it just sucks that it is so hard to coordiate wituh people clear across the world (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Especially weekdays are really hard to arrange. I'm in Finland, EST +6 hours, so a start time of something like 5-7pm EST would be ok for me, as well as most other europeans I believe. I'm not sure if that would suit the US west coast people, though...
I hope we can work it out!

Welcome to "The Joy of Event Scheduling!!!"
Its been my experience that it is literally impossible to schedule a weekday event that satisfies both Euro's and West Coasters.
The only thing I have found that works is weekend (Sat or Sun) during the early afternoon hours.

Please use GMT time the original one i'm +1
02:30 will be too especialy when i have too start woark at 0600 next week i will be working at that time and the week after that it's ok (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Anyway please use GMT times it's i believe called ZULU time too (not sure)
U can find ur own GMT time at icq i believe it's more official as those other time types
-
Just to clarify:
CST = Central Standard Time = GMT - 6
CDT = Central Daylight Time = GMT - 5
Until Oct 29, we're on DST, and Zigrat is referring to Central Time in general, not CST.
WET (Western European Time) is GMT + 1, but with DST (in most places till Oct. 29 as well) it's GMT + 2
7 hours difference.
So 19:30 CDT = 02:30 in western europe, 01:30 in the UK, and 03:30 EET.

Ok, but what is the flight speed of a fully laiden swallow?
Cobra
-
Anyway very chaotic (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Where do they get the term daylight or central time?
central off what?
Anyway GMT is easier too understand also it's reason off being there
-
Or you could just use the timezone converter link that is here:
http://events.hitechcreations.com (http://events.hitechcreations.com)
It makes it much simpler and removes the confusion.

BTW rip you can still fly in it!! if you get there whenever just join your squad and fly on saturdays of course (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
spread the word, im off to class...
-
hi all:
for those on the west coast, start time is 5:30 pm
for those on the east coast, I think it is 7:30 or 8:30 pm
for those in the middle, pick a time, I am in Alberta, my start time is 6:30pm
I know, I am not much help to everybody, but those in BC now know what time to start.

I looked forward to flying a G6 against Spits, Jugs, and Lightnings. But how did we end up with things like...
Allies getting 50% faster AC and pilot replacement?
Typhoons?
Heavy bombers for the Allies?
No Spit Vs for the allies.
This "scenario" seems silly. Do the allies need these advantages?
I didnt know the Axis would be severly handy capped when I accepted a squadron command Zig.
I can think of no reason why any of the above decisions where made.
-
What Zig said. The start time is 19:30 CDT, 00:30 GMT, 20:30 EDT, 17:30 Pacific Time, 1:30 in UK, and 02:30 in Western Europe.
-
GMT is UK time. Greenwich Mean Time. (or median?) Greenwich is located just east of London. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
It is almost 1.00 GMT now, 3am here in Finland and I'm off to bed. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
Cya on Saturday!

pongo,
the purpose of today is play balancing. I wanna see how it goes. the tiffie will definitely stay in the scenario, but the 50% bonus to allies might disappear. originally it was in because i was visualizing the luftwaffe fighing a defensive battle with alot of ditches and bails where they save resources, but have talked to busc and this might not be teh way it plays out. so i wanna see how it goes and then edit it from there

Why give the typhoon? It was definalty never used in theater. It is as out of place as the Hog would be. The B17 was used in theater but why give one side such an advantage? At least force the buff to fire single guns or something. As it is it eats up pilots like crazy. I mean the allies have better armed fighters and a lighter bomber to kill(1940) why make it worse by having the buff and the typhoon in there.
