Would it be possible to make the actual fire a little smaller? When the carrier catches fire the flames are HUGE and i think it looks a little cheesy.

thats a small picture but you get the basic idea.
I like the smoke just fine, seems more realistic. Im not asking that the fire be re-shaped or anything... just dont want it to go so high up
besides that great job:aok

Neat! That's the first I've seen of that. (My account is still disabled until my workload lessens or the BoB event begins, whichever comes first.)
The flames probably look cheesy because they're several hundred feet tall and aren't blending into the smoke. But if you look at footage of burning carriers, the flames really did get that big.

Most images I've seen were like the one above. Lotsa smoke ... no flames directly visible. But where there's smoke there's fire. Problem is .... where there's tons of smoke there's also laggy framerate. ;)

not askin for more smoke, just smaller flame. Even if they were that large in real life, its not that noticable. You can probably fit 2 carriers (height) in that flame, just wanting the flame to be smaller so its less noticable.

You see how beautiful the smoke is? The same particle system would make fantastic fire, but I imagine the frame rates would really suffer on low end systems.

Is that what killed the game you was designing, El Scorpio? :D

lol :)
