Enough Private Ryan/Thin Red Line/Windtalkers infantry battle movies for a while.
Please, please tell the story of the air war in WWII - remake "12 o'clock High" or "Flying Tigers" if that's all the imagination you can muster, but a little research would yield dozens of great storylines in this setting.
How about a story about 8th AF fighter groups? Stories about Robert Johnson and his P-47, Preddy and his '51, or Bud Anderson, Yeager, Gentile, Godfrey, Blakeslee, Meyer - all these guys have stories that combined with Hollywood special effects would result a gripping, first-rate war movie. Or the raid on Ploesti? Cactus Air Force on Guadalcanal? Erich Hartmann's or Adolf Galland's stories?
Midway and Battle of Britain have been done enough - I'm just anxious for a full length feature with lots of air action - like the Mustang vs 109 scene in "Hart's War". The '51 flyby, even on my small home theater system, shakes the room.
Thanks for your attention...

Better yet, how about a story on Bong or the Pacific aces.
The air war in europe gets all the atention! The Pacific needs some!:D

Another great example! The race between Bong and Mcguire could be real interesting.

starring ben affleck as bong and matt daemon as mcguire, with the love interest they're competing for lucy lui...
it could work.
:D

Hmmm a historically ridiculous Hollywood subplot/romance involving Liu as Tokyo Rose?
I think we better stop giving them ideas.

I always thought a movie about Zemke and his boys would make a good flick.
Just call it 'Wolfpack.'

A movie about Adrian Warburton would be a fantatastic film.
I'm sure anyone who has read Warburton's War would agree. If you haven't go buy it.:)
