Just how many years behind the original schedule is this one? Isn't it close to 5 years late or something like that? I think HL2 is similar in the late category and honestly wouldn't be surprised to hear that it took the same road as Team Fortress 2 did becoming true vaporware...Boy that was a game that if it would have come out when it was scheduled a few years ago would have advanced FPS online multiplayer shooters a bunch.

Looks like I'll be waiting on this title. Need to upgrade to a system that can run this game at decent framerates. Would be a shame to spoil this game on my lousy 1.8mhz box.

Just upgraded to Athlon 64 2800+  for Doom 3 and HL2. Together with the 9800XT is should run fine.

Will move PC to living room and play Doom 3 on my 50" Panny tele.  Wife is going to come home, see me playing in my underwear in the dark and just walk away shaking her head. :)

rofl makarov :D

I think I'll be buying a 9800xt or something similar to accomodate HL2 and Doom3.  Athlon 64 3000+ and a 9600xt sure gives good rates, but the 9800 would work wonders.

gee wally!  Welp, 18 hours to go ;)

If it's the real thing, then cool.  But it'll probably finish by the time my box gets here in the mail.

btw, I went with the non-reloaded.  Straight "Doom3"

Some are saying not all of the Doom 3 files on supernova are Doom3, but from what I heard the Reloaded one is. If you pre-ordered like most everyone I know, we'll have the Box first, yes.

Most reviews coming in are very good. Turn the lights off, and it scares the crap outta you. That's rare, and sounds like great gameplay to me. Of course they are drooling over the excellent grafix, but that was a given.

I do like multiplayer like BF1942, but have been waiting for a long time for a good FPS you can play in Single Player when you want without all the hassles that can sometimes go with MP.

9 hours.  A guy I work with also preordered, but suprnova'd his way in last night.  He says it's incredible - the scripting and storyline flow very well and gives the same 'feeling' that Half Life did.  I'm excited :)  Been too long for a decent FPS with a good storyline.  Predictable or not, blow away demonspawn endlessly or not, this is gonna be good.

Well i got it last night.

It was 12 oclock when i got my copy. I installed it, played it, screamed, i actualy screamed!

I only completed some levels, but by the time it was 6 oclock in the morning i was shacking at the legs, i couldnt speak i was pretty much completly blown away at this game.

"The lights go out, you hear noses coming around the corner. You pull out your flash light. Trying to figure out what has happend. You turn 180* you hear a scream behind you. You spin, and there is the biggest **** monster you have seen, eating away at you. You backup, screaming, die! DIE! DIE. You accendently select the wrong weapon, the pistol. F**** not this weapon ahhhh, next. Well the monster is still eating at your flesh, your eye sight is red, your scaning through your weapons faster than light. Its dark, and all you can see is its red eyes. You pump 2 rounds of your shockgun into the thing. It dies fast, and you recover from your ordeal and get back onto your seat."

Even writing that i have shivers running up my back.

Cannot wait to get home, turn off the lights and pump up the sound. Load up doom 3 and turn myself into a screamign child.

System.
2600+ XP
786 Megs of 2700 DDR
XP Pro
9800 Pro 128 meg.

Runs nice and smothly on my system.

Edbert, what do you use when you download binaries? I was using BNR2 but it had too many problems (chokes badly on large groups like alt...DVDR for example) and I didn't like Newshark, Binry Boy and a few of the others.  I am currrently trying Newsbin Pro 4.3 and so far it appears to do the job ok.  It downloads slower though in conparison to BNR2 and the others.  I'm looking for alternatives though so I ask.....

I pulled down all three CDs in about 1.5 hours using "Agent". Make sure whatever you use supports Yenc encoding. I also highly recommend smartpar or quickpar. PAR files are the best thing to hit the NG scene in...well...maybe ever.

I started D3 on my laptop (sadly the fastest proc I own), it is a HT3.4 with a Gig of RAM and an ATI-9700 in it. The game kept crashing VERY early where I meet the guy at the desk and he gives me a PDA. Crash analysis indicated the video driver is to blame...sigh. There are no drivers available from ATI for the mobile version of their cards so I gave up and loaded it onto my AH2 box. It is a lowly XP2100+ with a 9800-pro-256. D3 runs rather poorly, it is clear my proc is not up to the task. In another week or so Intel is announcing price-cuts so I am certainly over due. All those folks who b1tched and whined about AH2 needing a fast computer should see this!

Anyhow hat game seems really nice, I quit after the 1st level, it was getting late.
