Title: Norwegians and Swedes I need your advice..

My sister is in Arvika, Sweden and she offered to pick somethig up for me there or in Norway.  What little trinket or item could you guys reccomend?

Where is this Porsgrunn place anyway?  Is there any locally famous trinket sold there? Like litte viking ships or something?

About 3 hours SW of Oslo by car. Those little vikingships can prolly be bought at some taxfreeshop.

Whatever she gets she should stay away from Oslo and see the smaller places. Oslo is imo nothing to see.

How much did she plan to spend?
Most things tourist buy here are stuff that reminds them of Norway when they get home. Getting something for someone that hasnt been here is worse.

I donno, I wouldnt ask her for anything much. At most maybe around $40 area..

This is harder than i though....have never bought anything for a foreigner before.

How about a big norwegian flag to cover your entire wall? :D


-edit- she could stop by a bookstore and get a book with some history and pictures etc i guess. They prolly have them with english text too.....dunno. just an idea.

It's cheaper to rent than it is to own anyway... good choice. :aok
