Title: My first AH movie (finally!)
Post by: GScholz on July 14, 2004, 07:48:35 PM
It's from my first flight with the Abbeville Kids on furball island, but I only had my own film to work with so don't expect to see much of the other Kids (if any). ;)

Mein Cott what a POS that AH film viewer is! I hope HTC can find the time to make a better one (although I fully understand they have more pressing matters ATM).

Hope you guys like it! (and my custom 109) :)

Very Good...  What were you using for the darking of the screen.. Virtual dub or was it in the editor?  I have seen that effect before... but I can't find the tool to mimic it... Again very good flic... although the speakers and the little LCD screen was a bit over the top... it was a cool effect.. :aok

Lol, the best AH movie I've seen to date.

*lol* thanks guys :)

I used Adobe After Effects for the radial darkening effect. I think I've used about every program I have in making this movie.

LMAO!  DS9 playing on that LCD.  I had to watch it twice... "Did I just see that?"

VERY good.  Loved the sounds :)

The in-cockpit sound - is that from another high quality source and edited in or is that your ingame engine sound?

The in-cockpit sound is from a real 109G-2 (Checkflight Gustav). :)

I think I have that actually.  You posted it a while back right?   Hmm... I wonder if I can split it for a decent ingame .eng sound :)

i like the speakers thumping and the lcd monitor ...

I believe Mitsu's sound pack is pretty accurate for the DB engines. I remember tinkering with the Checkflight Gustav sound, and I could only match Mitsu's sound, not better it.

The programs I used: AH film viewer, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Film Maker, Virtual Dub and 3D Studio MAX.

I'll email you the gunsight. The enginesound in the move is a high fidelity in-cockpit recording of a 109G-2. The in-game sounds are low fidelity, but Mitsu's sounds are very good.

Is that symmetric?  The best you can get out here in the backasswards US is 10 down 1 up from Cablevision in NY/NJ.  That's $50 a month.  Nothing else in the US comes close.  On the plus side, Verizon  is seriously ramping up FTTH this year and the next, 30 Mbit down.

That said, Japan is the place to be for broadband.  The disadvantaged get "only" 25 Mbit DSL, and apparently most people are looking at 100 Mbit fiber.

It is called "post production", the pilot isn't there in the original rendering. ;)

Decals and custom wheels huh?   RICER BOY!

I liked the vid.  I was suprised at some of the shots you were taking in a plane with as limited an ammo load as the G2.

With the limited fuel capacity, why not spend the ammo? ;)

Btw. Phookat, the gondies do not increase firing time in the 109. You just add two more 20mm guns with less ammo than the one you've already got, so total firing time remains the same.

Would anyone happen to have a copy of this classic film? It's one of my favorites but I've lost it... If some nice person would take a couple of minutes to upload it or send it to me (kruger2*at*gmail*dot*com), I would be extremely thankful!

Cheers, Kruger
