We have lots of different events for fighters to show their pure personal skills:
- The King of The Hill
- Duels - personal/squadron
What do you think about this:
Bombers Squadrons Competition
Registration
1. Each bomber group that what to participate in the event should registrate for it.
2. Each group should consist of same number of players in each ride (the group can consist of 7-8 players but in each stage only maximum 4 players can take part)
Competition
The competition will consist of number of stages which will test their skills in different bomber roles.
[list=1]
- Strategic operation - Level bombing:
Target - City
Airframe - 4 formations of level bombers (same for all groups in copetition) one of: B-17, Lancaster, B-26, Boston III, Ju-88, Ki-67
Scoring - amount of buildings destroyed.
- Naval Oparations - Dive and Torpedo Attacks:
Target - Enemy Fleet
Airframe - 4 naval bombers - one of: SBD-5, TBM-3, B5N2, D3A1
Scoring - amount and types of ships destroyed
Note: Both dive and torpedo attacks can be used, hardness of fleets reduced, carrier based takeoff
- Tactical Operations - Ground Target Strike
Target - Airbase
Airframe - 4 planes - IL-2, Ju-87, 110, Mossquito, A-20
Scoring - amount and type of destroyed targets.
Note - ACKs latality might be increased.
- Ground Forces Support - Ground Viechles Hunting
Target - Gorund Viecles - 8 Panzers and 4 M-16s
Airframe - 4 - strike role planes: IL-2, Ju-87, 110, Mossquito, A-20
Scoring - amount of panzers destroyed
Notes: GV drivers will be randomly choosen from other squadrons to simulate enemies.
- Special Operations - low altitude attacks.
Target - any - defined for each competition
Airframe - 4 planes - any - defined for each competition
Scoring - defined for each competition
Enemyes - 4 randomly choosen pilots that will scramble to intersept enemy strike planes
Notes - the point of the gameplay is to get under radar altitude to enemy - it will be set to 300-500 feets. Wrning range will be set to 3 miles. Enemy fighters will be able to scramble only after base is flashing or/and enemy is visible on radar. After orderance dropping scramble forces will not be allowed to continue to intersept strike force up to certain range from base.
Other Rules
- The aircrafts certain rules and scorring system will be defined independently for each competition
- After each group strike the tragets will be rapaired.
- All squadron will met together and each will pass one of the stages.
- After all squadrons will finish all stages scores will be collected and the results will be publicated
- In scoring if pilot of plane KIA ony 10% of its targets get, Captured 25%, bailed/ditched 50% and RTB 100% onlt

What do you think?
Also I've posted it at SE BBS (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123538)

Any chance to see it runned?

Potentially interesting.
Ripsnort used to do something similar for attack planes with F4u trials.
Squad members all had to qualify, takeoff cv full load, kill 3 targets with bombs/rockets, strafe final target, then land successfully.
You'd need a good impartial CM to setup/run the event.
Might be easier & more intersting to run it as a seriies of heats. Failure to complete mission or RTB kicks you out. Could even score points and best after 3 sorties wins.
Are you after the squad aspect of this?
Or would single players be able to compete?

I think the serias of rides will be more interesting testing all your strike skills like level bombing, naval ops, close GV support and others.... it would be much more fun and challanging

Yes you right I think several groups should make their runs in same time each making different role...... we will need couple of orbiters but.... finaly all will have to work to sucess...

It have to be a group of players - because strike ops done mostly in group..... It shouldn't be squadron but must be a team work
This will be very challangin to test all your skills and survive

The Mosquito Mk VI IS NOT A BOMBER!!!!!
Some people seem to be having persistant trouble with this concept.
It was flown as a multi-role aircraft by RAF Fighter Command, frequently as a pure fighter.
For a bomber Mossie we need the Mosquito B.Mk IV, Mosquito B.Mk IX or, preferably, Mosquito B.Mk XVI.

maybe, but can it carry bombs?

Yes you right but.........
It is used more frequently in strike role then as pure fighter.........
It is excellent strike plane but quite poor fighter..... (as 110 that was used also as fighter in BoB)

One more
This competition aim is
To compare different strike abilities of different teams
If it is level bombing., ground forces support, strike tactical operations, naval operations....
It doesn't mean that bombers only will be used in this role........
Actually in last section (special ops) fighters can be used.....
For example P-51, P-47, Fw-190, Typhoons with bomb load can be used for some kind of low level stike operations.
