I see Wild Bill has posted  on WB bbs today that "something good" has happened with the patent thing, but he can't talk about it.

As requested...

All,

If you have not been following the press releases, some good things are happening at IENT.

We have received an LOI from a European financial consortium to develop a new online game over the next 30 months. This financing will allow us to grow our staff and pay our overheads. This contract is for $8.5 million.

This will be good for WarBirds development too.

This financing will free up resources we can spend on WarBirds.

We also have some great news on the Patent front. We are not allowed to talk about it but it is exciting. The Patent should begin to generate some significant revenue for us in the near future. (If a game is online, it is probable it utilitzes our Patent.)

We are discussing WarBirds licensing in 3 Asian countries.

We are also working on a new corporate financing to enable IENT to get back to the OTC market and have funds for marketing WarBirds and all our products.

Stay tuned. The Fall should be fun.

Wild Bill

So did the iEN people also invent the smoothing code that AW used?   You know, the stuff that was in use before their money-grubbing corporate entity or its products even existed?

Lol @ greedy corporate jerks.  People like that provide ammo for the communists.

The only scary thing is that all too often these cases are decided by old men who don't know the difference between C-drive and CMOS so it could go either way.

To be honest, that's what scares the hell out of me. Old men or not, the idea that this could have a negative impact on our game just gives me Shivers.

It should be interesting, considering a good deal of AH2's development (if not all of it) took place after the initial patent issue came up, hopefully the game was designed around the potential legal problem.

I don't know enough about this case, or patent law in general to make an educated comment, but it does bug me. Once School starts up again, I'll see what I can find.

Thanks Dale. I know you're the inventor (I've seen the patent... at the Patent Office lol). What I didn't know was whether another entity owned the rights to the patent...

I'm guessing not. Either way, it's good news all around. :)

I checked WB's BB,and from what I could garner, those WB'ers been scammed by Bill so much, they aren't falling over themselfs with glee.Kindda like, what you see, isn't exactley what your getting. It would appear that WB's has came up with answer to losing players, charge the ones that are left twice a month:lol Numbers issues, bugs, and whining in general about the same as AH BB.I seen a couple of old timers =dobs=,and byheck posted, and that brought back pleasant memories.Still haven't figured out what Bill meant by consortium,or LOI,but 8.5 Million isn't nothing to sneeze at.I'll bet HiTech is glad he doesn't have to make such a move;)

seriously think about it. he just milked some euro sucker out of 8.5 mil and he clearly has no idea how to do anything origional as far as online flightsims go.

VOSS couldn't con someone out of 8.5 mil in his wildest dreams.

of course the whole info maybe vossian falshoods to begin with.

I don't know any of the story first hand but I think it goes something lke this ( apologies for anything incorrect.)

Hitech from HTC wrote the patented code at Warbirds then sold warbirds to Wild Bill.

Hitech is saying on the BBS that AH uses different code - therefore does not infringe the  patented code that he sold to Wild Bill.

Wild Bill is trying to claim otherwise.

I think Hitech probably knows which patent they are talking about.

I'm not sure I would pay much for your "STFU" advice if I was him

OK...OK   my appols to HTC and anyone taking offence for the "stfu" advice.

Should have said "Mind what you type, print, say, post or otherwise project".  Am refereing convolutedly to "Sub judice".
Hence the "without predjudice" comment.   I wouldn't want a chap to be compromised by a little skulduggery outside a court room or the Lawyers brief.

No offence ment HTC and I hope none taken.
