when you shoot someones tail off an enemy in a quick 1 second burst and then break off to either land or move to the next enemy and the guy that was behind you follows YOUR kill to the deck and unloads into him, and steals your kill.:(
WTF!!!
-
Well, to prevent that, you have to shoot the hell outta the guy. I usually wait until I either get an explosion kill, or I shoot two wings off.
-
yep i hate the scrap feeders too
-
Shoot em till they splode Dont leave any scraps for anyone
Almost as annoying is the guys that insist on shooting over your shoulder at the guy your on then whining about killshooter.
This type of play is the cause of fully 80% of all the killshooting incidents I've seen
Good for em
-
Thats the way I get most of my killses.
-
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the Corpse ****ers.

heres another one i did tonight...
got 30 kills in a tiger doing what else? of course spawn camping, and couldnt land them because i knew as soon as i peeked my turret out of the tree's the swarm of aircraft over head would swoop down on me with vengence. so i go for the tower button knowing full well that id ditch, but hey at least none of them got the kill on me:D
still erks me sometimes that we cant land gv's within our base area of operations id guess you'd call it, just would have loved to see that ***you got 30 kills message*** probably would have gave me a woody ha:rofl
-
you know there are far greater things to worry about in life than who steals whos kills and where you can and cannot land a kill.
-
Steal killers do suck but what I hate is working on a guy for a bit, getting right in the saddle, fixing to pull the trigger and some moron shoots tracers over me and the bad guy starts flopping like a fish or dives to the deck.
If someone is in the saddle, DON"T interfere.
If an enemy is fighting 2 or more of your guys, DON'T interfere.
If an enemy is going down, DON'T waste ammo and E trying to steal a kill.
I always get a kick out of 6 guys chasing 1 P-51 or something. It's just so stupid!
-
gentlemen here's a new one on me...
never had this happen to me before????
im left clueless
im tailing a high spit in a p51d he looks to be in auto climb right, he never see's me so i get with in 400, line up, open up with my guns and hit sprite hit sprite, then nothing! my rounds start flying through the guy as if he was never there then i fly right through him, like he was one of my fellow country men! and while im just dumb founded at what just happend i turn too look back and he opens up on me and im dead! WOW wtf just happened!
chalk one more up for the lag monster i guess huh?

Add another to that dipstick
Do not cherry pick the enemy in front of your buddy when the enemies buddy is nearby unengaged.

Yes... I love the countrymen who fly in between you and the enemy you have already saddled up on and while you are firing he gets into your bullet stream and YOU DIE...

that ones the best right there hyrax, that has to happen to me at least once a night, funny thing is that when i was playing earlier today and that guy ohh whats was his fricken name??? ohh well does'nt matter there seems to be hundreds of them.. anyways after he stole that kill from me i imediately got of for a second and posted this thread, and got back in the game imediately after, went right back to the same base uped my favorite fighter and started defending ony to have the same guy try to do it to me again!!! WTF!! i got on ranfe channel and said hey so and so "did i or did i not just shoot that guys tail off? he says yep i say well you do know if you follow him down and shoot him till he blows up your stealling kills right?" no reply i called him a bottom scaper and he left that base and went else where...
so what ever your name was!!!:aok your awesome
-
I dont care, steal my kill, cover my 6 and I will cover yours. A furball is a furball targets present themselves shoot the daylights out of them.
Hanging above the action and trying to decide if you will be violating someones rules will get you killed real quick.
Shoot the red thingies:D

I know this has been quoted a few times before (damned right too) but feel it's relevant:

No I've never heard him say that, no really. Seriously I've never heard him say that. Of course my vox has been out alot. Yea that's the ticket. My vox was out, yea that's it. That's what it was.
And no kidding Murdr. Don't know how many times your 'buddy' goes for your kill and leaves an enemy bearing down on both of you now instead of taking on the newcomer freeing you to finish your (even) fight and creating an (even) fight of his own.

heres 2 things that Annoy me a little bit...
#1. Landing a damaged aircraft slightly off the runway and getting a ditch. I mean come on..... slide off the runway a few feet with a dead motor and maybe no gear and you get ditched, but flip the plane over on the runway breaking off the wings and tail and get a successful landing LOL. Did they even have paved runways in the European Theatre during WWII.....i thought they took off from a grass feild.
#2. Shooting the wing or tail off an enemy plane or causing it to just explode and getting an assist is B.S. Just because some guy put a few rounds in the plane before you and maybe hit the aux fuel or started a oil leak does not mean he shot the plane down....shooting a wing or tail off causing the plane to plummet to earth is shooting it down. If anything you both should get the kill as both contributed to its demise. Its getting to the point where if i see a plane banged up or smoking im not wasting the E or ammo on it just to get an assist. And Im wondering if anybody has decieded to not help a friendly who may be getting bested by a damaged plane because they didnt wanna waste E and Ammo for an assist.I help when ever i can but i have said to myself "im wasting my time for an assist and probably gonna get shot down for doing this" as i dive in to help a countrymen.
Just my opinion and open to criticism..so fire away

I hear that.
Im not so much worried about having kills stolen so long as the enemy dies. But DONT shoot over may shoulder to get him!
If im in a situation like you mentioned where Im in the saddle I absolutly HATE when a friendly behind me starts shooting over my shoulder.
My latet move on this now is if I know its a friendly behind me Im gonna pull up into your bullets and cause his killshooter even if it means letting the badguy get away.
Dont like killshooter. Pick your own angle of attack and use the manners you were taught in kindergarden of leeting the person in front of you go first.

Even then 9 times out of 10 its probably your own fault. Usually comes from two things spraying and praying. And developing tunnelvision and only seeing the bad guy
Fire short 2-3 second bursts unless you are getting consistant good solid hits on your target.
If you fire short 2 - 3 second bursts the slight pause between bursts will give you enough time to see someone come in front of you most of the time and not pull the trigger for that next burst
In 2+ years of playing I've only had maybe 5-6 killshooters. (no system is perfect)
By contrast I've avoided dozens more by only firing short bursts.
Also helps when you can hear external engine sounds as opposed to music. then you can hear someone comming underneith/alongside/over you.
Just like any other aspect of this game your survival depends mostly on you.
The short burst rule works.
It also helps you conserve ammo so you can shoot at even more planes.
FLy a YAK around for a while.
I can think of no better plane to get someone in the habit then the Yak

personally it has never happened to me. i dont fight in furballs. i hate those. i fight what ever 1 on 1's and 2 on 1's i can get into, but i agree it must suck to hate a kill stolen.

The only time I jump in is when someone CLEARLY isn't getting the job done. Tonight I watched 5 Knights wrestle with a P38 near A61 for about 4 or 5 minutes. I circled above the whole time not believing my eyes.
Finally got tired of it and jumped in the soup. Ended up getting the kill. Oh well. Get it done, or get outta the way. :)

All those things do suck.. I have had a few kills stolen from me..
But my worst frustration comes from some chump diving on the guy im firing at whilst 4 badguys are chasing me.. lol
Almost as bad is some chump draggin 4 badguys to me so they can make a pass at the single plane Im firing at..
-
Here's one that doesn't "Piss me off" but does make me laugh.
A guy is in deep with 3 enemies on his ass. He's running like a *****, but everyone knows hes not going to make it. So I say "I'm on the way, hang on" whereupon the Friendly proceedes to point directly at me, dragging the enemies into my 12 oclock. This ruines pretty much any chance I had of helping him out, as all I get time for is one head-on, which I usually decline to take considering the possibilities of Killshootering myself, and or getting a facefull of bullets.
So hopefully someone will read this and say "oh, I do that" and will mend their ways. Folks, when dragging a bandit, give your helper some help of your own, and set up a decent angle for him :)
-Sik
-
I have that happen more often than not Sikboy. When someone tells you they are OTW don't turn into them unless they say to. It ruins the killshot (you DO want him off you, right?) and takes more time for the friendly to set up for another.
I have the best results with s-turns. It increases the closure for the friendly and keeps the bandit focused.

Hey, welcome to Aces High dipstick! Hope you enjoy your time here.

I try to not steal kills (my score should make that obvious), but too many times I've seen a smoking enemy continue to fly and even shoot friendlies. If he ain't down, I'm shooting. No, I won't jump in front of you, won't try for someone if he's obviously getting hammered, but if he comes from above and I don't see anyone chasing him, I'm going to try to nail him unless he's missing a wing.
-
To be even more specific, how about the guy that either cuts in front of you or shoots over your shuolder when you are less than D200 on the nme. You give him a verbal lashing and he says " I didn't see you there" Like how the HELL can you not see me? I'm right on this guys butt. You'd have to be loooking through the hollow insides of a Bic pen not to see me behind him. GRRRRRRRR.
-
JB42--
You have to understand, because of net lag, he sees himself in exactly the same position as you. He's 200 behind the con, and that damn JB42 is behind him pinging away!
No way to avoid this really, except to avoid participating in gangbangs. If there's 5 guys chasing a con, pull off and find someone else.

Jeez, I know. In AH1, I would always try to land a damaged plane at a vh because of this.
I would agree there should be a little more forgiveness in the whole ditch thing at an airfield.

that gent's is another post in general called team work, dred your a knight, hell the irongogs were my first sqaud in this game i moved else where, they were a fine bunch but i was young to the game and blood hungry and wanted bigger numbered squads so one day i asked around and found the lancers, theres some good guys there who dont always go for the furball also but hell theres many fine knights i get together with and fight side by side that are not even squadies of mine. point and im getting to that:eek: teamwork ahh yes! too many guys converging on one target and not simultainusly targets,as a team, from check sixes, to hey bud you need help? y/n?. not teammates ignoreing me when i ask him hey! what are you doing? and when i ask for help i would epect the same. this game would be even better if countries could work together as squads do, not for the individuals, hell were all trying to kill eachother anyways can you imagine rook armies, bish and knight's in the ma sometimes and some of the times the knights get it together and lay down some woop ass, most of the time its us but we do bring it to the table and im not talking about special event senierios niether.
but then again thats an antirerly another post
or is it?
