Title: F4U-1 Skin Mapping
Post by: slaker on July 17, 2004, 09:39:51 PM
The F4U-1 has a VF-17 Jolly Roger Flag on the cowling, which is mapped as a flag shaped bmp from the skin file.  Is there any way to remove this mapping, or make it transparent to avoid odd reflections from this part of the skin, as not all Corsairs had a flag shaped insignia on the cowling?

you could  try painting  the  bmap  the  body  colour  of  the cowel  and see  how  that  worksmight have to adjust  the  shade.or  fine  the  file  that  goes  with  it  and  block it  out

It is  mapped to a part of the F4U11.bmp file, which contains the fuselage.  I have cowl artwork that is partially obscured by the flag.  I have created a bmp to fill the space, but it is tricky as the resolution is different.  That being done, there is still the issue that the flag area reflect differently than the rest of the cowling.  Is there a way to add an alpha file for the fuselage?
