lol, it amazes me how some people can just 'delete' their sound card drivers.

"Yep, let me check my email here....wtf? 'System Error: You deleted your hard-drive you dumb-****'..

Here's a question: Can I run AH on a machine that doesn't have a sound card installed?

I get this error but it seems to have occured after I installed a second sound card. Both sound cards are available in windows. (I need the second one because it has the joystick port).

The error persists even if I disable the second card.

Any ideas?

Hey, AaronM2!

AH and AHII are the same thing, now - aren't they? I mean, AHI isn't available online, is it?

weird,
I have gotten that same identical error a few times over the past year, and I have never lost ( or deleted ) my sound card or anything

I would simply close the whited out game window and reclick the icon to start game and it would load up and run smoothly and error free.......

wierd how I got the error  and nothing was wrong with my system, with directx, or anything else......

I took it as a failure to intialize a key component during start up, but when restarting it intialized properly...go figure

Per Skuzzy, two sound cards are NOT advisable they might fight over resources.
Aaron, why the heck is your signature soooo darn large?
