Yep... the moviie wasn't much like the book that I recall but....
One thing is clear, you need hi capacity magazines for robot killin!
seems most anything will work tho... ball ammo is fine and even girly man 9 mm will puncture robots but hi capacity is a must. Semi auto is helpful. Most of the so called "assault weapons" are about perfect for home defense and riot control against robots.
Get smart folks! get armed and get armed right. between the zombies and the robots you don't wanna get caught with nothing but your "kerrie in 2004" button for defense.

Just curious here. Which camp is kerry in? Zombie or robot. Perhaps he was a zombie before he switched to robot.....
Or since his hair is a campaign issue he brought up and robots don't have hair, the other way around.
:D

lazs, did you purchase your Old Glory Robot Insurance yet?

"For when the metal-ones decide to come for you...and they will."

yep... scary stuff. I think any FMJ will do. Penetration is the thing. some weapons that work well on zombies should work well on robots too.
I even think the hydrochoks will wrok.

I would have thought that water (preferably salt water) would work best against robots. In the short term it would make them short circuit...in the long term rust.
I haven't seen the movie...are these robots able to withstand water?
What about an electronic tazer gun?....ooooops that's a gun too I guess.
Hmmm....high powered guns might be the only answer. You got me lazs.
:)
-
curval... you can squirt em with salt water while they attack you and I will just use my mini 14 or 44mag or 45 kimber... heck.. bet the little commie gun with FMJ wolf ammo in it would work fine too..
I was kinda hoping that this would be an excuse to buy a new gun but it appears that zombies and robots are both suceptable to the same firearms.
I wouldn't suggest you use the british zombie solution of machetes on em tho.

Man, when will the NRA get with the program. There should be a whole section on their website about zombie and renegade robot danger.
-
hmm...would this work
(http://www.akdess.com/images/cannon.jpg)
-
Curval could just impregnate them all to death.
-
A red X Vort...I don't think that will help.
Lazs...I have a super duper "Super Soaker"...it'll shoot like 50 feet.
Side bonus...others in Robot harm's way are not threatened by richochets or misses. In fact they receive a nice cooling burst of water at a time where they are all hot and sweaty from running away.
lol Thrawn....that might just work.

Oh yeah... like I care about ricochets... Ok... for the wussies worried about their tender bodies... sheesh... I'll use frangibles.. Happy now?
vort.. that will work for one... maybe more if the cluster... heavy tho and hard to conceal even with a heavy coat... slow to reload.

I think I'll use my plasma rail gun with 2000 round mag.
-
By the time of the robot uprising all guns will be "smart". You don't really think they'll shoot one of their own brothers do ya?
-
Only girly-men need high capacity mags. Real men can hit the target with 3 rounds.
-
Was the movie any good?
-
I can hit the target with one round but.... you need the capacity for all his buddies... they travel in packs.
yes... the movie was good.... dropped moores abortion another couple of places.

Don't cower beneath your afghans!
Prediction for the near future of gun legislation:
There will be a discussion on whether flechette rounds or other types of rounds that do not contain propellent are considered 'bullets'.
-
couldnt you just dragg one under a truck and then have it chase you around manufacturing plant only to smash it to pieces underneath a giant industrial sized press?
OH WAIT....that was a cyborg....TOTALLY DIFFERENT
My bad
-
hmm Robots....electricity....batt eries.....hmmm very hard.....hmmm....EMP maybe...nope nope.....not good for movies.....got it....WATER...oh wait...water proof....hmmm.....damn must be hard working for movies:D
-
I used to think Matrix was a very well though out as scenario. Then I remembered the small fact that batteries store energy, they don't create it. :)
Have to read the Asimov before I see this movie.
-
Laz or anyone else.....is this movie appropriat for kids? Most of the stuff goes over their heads but I worry most about language
-
Speaking of language and this flick...
I heard that the movie sucked ass.
-
How old are the kids? I think it is pretty tame compared to most out there with the sexual stuff pretty much hinted at.
england is a good example of gun control... once it is decided that defensive weapons are bad... the door is wide open for any sillyness. There is a ban on high powered air rifles over there.
slow... if you can't figure out how to sheild robots against emp or water they wouldn't be much good would they? If your whole society ran on computer chips you had better figure out a good sheild for emp.
I guess if you were building robots tho you wouldn't see the need to make em bulletproof. Much in the same way that cars are not bulletproof except in rare instances.. So far as I know.... few bulletproof washing machines or refrigerators are made even here in America where unlocked guns roam the streets at night.
