On AT&T's plans to provide internet service over the power lines coming into your house? I wonder how that might work out?

New old tech, I first heard of this being developed in '97 or '98. The plan was to use the power grid to carry the load between city's and then use the phone grid only for local unloading.

I wouldn't hold my breath on the power grid network. What is a lot more exciting and realistic prospect is fiber-to-the-home. Verizon is really jumping on the ball on this, followed maybe by SBC. Thank god for the cable companies (who in a sense are doing fiber-to-the-curb right now, and are forcing the phone companies towards fiber). Google for Verizon Fiber Home.
