Title: Check 6 call - a positive note

Sunday night I was flying around a61 in my handy dandy FM2.  I noticed several friendlies on the deck and was content watching them finish off a couple of red guys.  I had look around earlier and didn't see anybody who was a threat, so I was flying straight and level, fat, dumb and happy.  

The next thing I know, I got a check 6 call from a guy named slot.  I looked behind me and didn't see anything, but fortunately I decided to take it as real and started evasives.   As soon as I started turning, I saw a Spitty on my 6.  Apparently he was behind & below me.  I managed to evade, and soon afterward slot cleared my 6 by distracting the Spit.  A few turns later & I got my sights on target and got the kill.

to slot.  If not for his 6 call and then clearing my 6, I would have been an easy kill.

awwwwww.....come on.  you can't have a thread posting re. ch 6's and not stamping your feet and moaning how it's everyone elses fault you died.

"Whhhhaaaaa!!!! I dove 10k to the deck into 4-5 nme's and started stall fighting and it's YOUR fault I died because I didn't know any nme were behind me!  whaaaa!! I blew all my alt/E and ended up low and slow on the deck with nme's swarming me, and only died because YOU refused to give me a check 6"

I hate it when I get check 6 calls just because someone wanted to make me look, or they meant it for someone else.
