Only thing I can find on the N1K-2J is that it has a max speed at 369 Mph. It says nothing about which altitude it has this speed, but according to bombjacks link the Spit IX is allready a lot faster than that at 16K with its 383 Mph If we assume that the N1Ks 369Mph is measured at its best alt, then the Spit IX should be a lot faster than N1K in general. The Spit IX reach the max speed of 409 Mph at 28 K.
But what about the Nikki Mitsu? It could be very interesting if you could find some more detailed info on the N1K-2J. Maybe even a performance test by the Japanese authorities like the one of the Spits. Could be very nice if you could find something and post it here.

Jig- Something is wierd with the flaps but not what your thinking. The Nik had a split flap for landing that was manually operated.
It also had an automatic combat flap that operated when lift reduced enough to trigger it. What is wierd is that this WAS a damn good sized flap but in AH it seems to not affect the drag profile of the plane. The AH Nik does not have any noticable difference in rate of decelleration at 4G.
In total it's odd that the AH Nik has such fabulous E retention- as it turns those flaps should pop and really burn E as it loses lift. However I think it's just because Pyro integrated it into the FM. As such it's likely just a burp that he will correct when he has time.

Compare them in RL or in AH?
In AH, the short story is that the Spitfire has better speed and climb from about 8,000ft and up. At 25,000ft the gap is +50mph and +1500fpm. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

From what I've seen (AH's model and the real one) the combat flaps are the only ones it has. The flap is hinged on the top about midway between the trailing edge and the pivot.
Anyway something is strange there, because the manual flaps in AH deploy like combat flaps (they aren't split) including the hinge, but offer little more then drag.
