This is probably on my end, but I didn`t know where else to post it.
I normaly don`t use vox at night because the beast........errrrr wife sleeps.
I tried it yesterday and am now getting about a 4 to 5 second delay after transmit key is pressed. Everything just pauses so to speak.
I`m using an SB Live soundcard.
-
You may want to be more specific about the "delay" and "pause"
you are referring to. Delay in what.. game freezez up for 4-5
secs after transmitting?
-
Yea, the game. Everything comes to Warp speed 0.:)

Jackel that is Normal u will see in the upper RT corner the name for 5 secones also look at the map when a squadie or anyone in Range talks his icon becomes large this way you know whos talking and were they are :aok I think its great it helps to see were ya buddys are ..... :D
-
Wax, put that bottle down. :D
What I am talking about here is the stopping of all processes of the game. Plane stops and freezes in mid air. Text and all activity stop.
I`m not Merle Lynch. :D

Sorry you must have been posting this at the same time I posted mine..

Just a guess but I'm thinking maybe an IRQ conflict. Check Windows Device Manager for yellow exclamation points or red X's.
I'd check the function through Windows Control Panel, Sound Speech Audio Devices, Sounds and Audio Devices, Voice tab, Hardware test button.
If that goes ok, check the advanced buttons to make sure things are set proper.
If everything goes ok, check in game voice setup to see if anything is wrong or different there.
As a last resort, I'd check for new driver for your sound card or maybe even roll back the driver if you've updated lately and are having problems now.
Best I can do.
Good luck.
-
As far as I can tell everything checks out OK. No conflicts, etc. Still scratching my head on this one.

Jackal,
try this:
start/run/ type "dxdiag" without the quotes, hit enter
click on sounds tab
On the hardware sounds acceleration slider start backing off to the left one notch at a time.
Test your vox xmit...may be able to do this offline.
If it still freezes go back to dxdiag and reduce another notch.
repeat.
You may have to keep dropping it down all the way to the far left.
Good Luck

Something else you might try:
In Aces High go clipboard/setup/preferences/voice
Check/uncheck the "wave in" box depending on where it is currently.
If its checked, uncheck it and try vox. If unchecked, check it and try vox.
click apply.
Doubt that this will help, but it cant hurt to try it.
Luck

Ok, I have tryed installing new drivers and all of the settings above with no result. Then today , with patch 7 , I was going to tinker with it some more. Now I get and instant game freeze that lasts about 5 to 10 secs then BOOM , host connection lost and back to desktop when i hit vox key. DOH DOH
