hblair, the toejam hit the fan every where across the net last night.

AGW ads wouldn't come up (and send you to http error pages), reference pages were missing, it was like half the net was taken over by the twilight zone.

I was logged in via that Alt Route Verio thing and noticed almost everyone was gone at 1am Eastern Time.  I think there were only 13 of us there wondering "Where'd everyone go?"  It suited me fine, I was 25 miles out of Knit HQ in a Lanc, saw a con upping for me, then >poof<, no one there anymore.

Made for a damn nice drop   :)

Whoever dropped that thermonuclear device, thanks!!   :D

it was a preliminary attack on the infrastructure of the entire web based economic society by middle eastern terrorists!
if they crashed the net..the United staes would lose billions.USA banking,traffic control,hospitals,military etc all rely heavily on the net.It was predicted that if the terrorists want to really hurt america/UK/european/asian economies it will be the net they use to screw us.

...we'd better hope so eh?

my personal theory is that our sun is going into a particulary active period and its shooting high energy particals at our planets magnetic field distorting all digital traffic  :D .....oh either that or the web is a pile of outdated horse manure !  :D

I heard that it was a bloke in a hard-hat with a Pneumatic drill & arse-crack showing that was responsible for taking out the net over there   :D
Missed the arena here in the uk though...
