Title: Skuzzy .. what does this mean?
Post by: sprint on July 21, 2004, 09:27:16 PM
Just before I get a disconnect I see the following message;
Losing UDP Session switch to TCP

I'm using dial-up (earthlink)

Anything I can do to adjust  this to improve it, or am I stuck in dail-up hell?

There's a sticky post at the top of the "AH2 Bug Reports" forum.

Has the answers you 're looking for.

Read all the stickys on top of this forum too. Lots of good info there as well.

Specifically it means there is UDP packet loss on your Internet connection.  Switching to TCP gaurantees packet delivery at the cost of performance as TCP is inherently slower than UDP due to the depth of queues (sliding windows) and the required ACK of the TCP protocol.
