I'm looking at purchasing a new cable modem and the Motorola SB5100 is at the top of my list.  Does anyone have a better choice or comments on the Motorola?

Im no computer nerd, but I do have a few friends that are
and they recommend the Motorola modems.

i do tech support for a major cable co ... motorolas give the least troubles imho. 5100's are nice as they have the standby feature that the terayons do not , try and stay away from the tj715's and the com21's , as they seem to be sensitive to signal 38

got a ? my cable co use ARRIS modems how good are thay? and will the motorola give any gains in speed  and i wonder if my cable co suports modems outher then the ones thay give to you ?
