I was hoping for a bit more syntactical imagery.....:)  I really am very interested to know about both methods from other players experiences. I currently am using the Keymapper. I'd like to know more about your use of the Mouse Look.:) We are stuck with the two methods until Pyro programs native TrackIR support into the game.:D

Panning is not smooth it appears to pan in   micro jerks is the best way to describe it.
And can also impart motion sickness (to several people who tried it).

Definitely a no go option for me at the moment.

Do a search of the BBS for TrackIR you will find a bucket load of hits.

Yes I did search. But your response is what I am looking for. And I appreciate it. In the latest version of the TrackIR App ver 3.11 there is more control of the motion than before. I'm using the Keymapper app and have fine tuned much of the jerkyness out. One exception is the key switch point on the map grid. You know at each crossing of the zone lines you have switched key views.:)
