Gents; we have a heluva Scenario Set shaping up.. and we could use some more Pilots. We need P38, Spit, P47, B26 and B17 pilots for Saturday and Tuesday events; which will be running for the next six weeks. You do not have to make all these events, so please sign up even if you can make only a few of them.
Times and ROE, as well as pilot rosters and sign ups are accessed from here:
http://www.iit.edu/~buonmic/med.html (http://www.iit.edu/~buonmic/med.html)
Maps; (REQUIRED!) can be viewd and printed from:
http://www.vermin.net/cmed.pdf (http://www.vermin.net/cmed.pdf)
Please join us for the Defense of Malta, and the Invasion of Sicily. RAF and USAAF fly and fight together vs Axis 109, 190's and C205's. You'll see some great fights in a historical setting; and based on the two practice sessions we've flown so far, have and absolute blast.
Just check the AAR's here:

I would be glad to participate. Whos the Squad leaders of the fighter squads? I know Rip is the P-47 SL, but he better speak up soon or I will press on in my search for employment (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

See my thread in the Special Events Arena.
Frenchy is FL of P47 squad, per Zigrat.
Hangtime, make sure you read it too, our squadron wants to stick together if at all possible. Thanks!

Hiyas Hang (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
The newly re-organized 13th TAS may be interested if we can fly together....I would have to ask the others but I have a feeling that they would love this.
Let me know if we can stick together.
Ice 13th TAS
PS...FYI....squadron consists of four pilots (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Hiya Ice!
The Med League/Allied would be glad to have yah! As it stands now; it appears that the P47's squad is about full.. Rips boys and Frenchys crew have mobbed it. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) The only place I'm sure I could slot you as a group would be in B26's.. with me. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
However; should buffing not be in the cards for yah (I fully understand if you guys are reluctant to buff.. the missions will be difficult, and require nerves of steel); I believe several slots are still open in the p38 and spit squads.. check the sign-up page and check with those squad CO's.
Any of us would be pleased and proud to have any or all of you sign up for this TDY assignment in the sunny Med! Just review the ROE and linked singup/roster pages off the links above.
<SALUTE!>

Well....as we are fighter pilots and not truck drivers, we still may fly with you in the 26's as you hold a special place in our little hearts (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I'll chk with the guys and join in the appropriate place.

Just so I understand correctly: do special events require that one be in a squad previous to signing up? If all plane slots are filled do we get assigned ack vehicles etc? Is it a big deal if we cannot print out a map?
-
BBGun, no. No prior squad affiliation needed at all - least in the current events under way.
You may have to join a temporary squad for that event for communication purposes.
And there is no requirement to print a map, but it sure comes in handy during the event. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
As for all slots filled. I've only seen that once in the last three years over in another sim. And even than it only effected a few people who then opted to drive vehicles or gun another aircraft. Here? Sadly I don't see fully manned flights (Med League. "Afrika" sign up is Sunday. We'll have to wait-see for that one) so that shouldn't be a problem at all.

hi all:
Its saturday afternoon.
and as CO of the RAF 234 spitsquad, still looking for a few more pilots, 2 or 3 hundered would be nice, dont have that many planes, but I sure we could strap a few guys on the wings and give them rocks to throw.
and will porbably need a lot of guys on the ground to sweep up all the dabrie on the runways, you know how messy those LW pilots can be when they come for a visit.
well I would be happy to get 3 or 4 more spit pilots in my squad. my e-mail is
wolf37@mail.com
and dont forget to sign up, address for signup is at the top of the post here.
looking forward to some fun in the sun
over in the med.

I must say my fellow 109 pilots and I definately need some more targets to shoot at. It seems the inventory of Spits and 38's should be getting low over there in Malta after the last frame.
Actually, all kidding aside, these events are a blast and the immersion is top notch.
<S> to all the participants!

BBGunn the discussion in this thread concerns a player-created scenario series (Med League).
The official HTC Med scenario is something entirely different. Afrika Korps is starting next month and you can read about it here: http://events.hitechcreations.com/scenarios/afrika/ (http://events.hitechcreations.com/scenarios/afrika/)
-
My first choice was the p47 squad, i fired off an email to ripsnort.
Hangtime, I Asked twice to be in your squad, I got no reply.
I asked Frenchy to be in the p47 squad when i found out he was the new leader, and also got no reply.
Wolf, heard me and gave me an invite to the spit group, but I don't fly the spitty.
After hearing the repeated cries for MED people, and being ignored when I do try to join, I gave up trying to play in MED.

That's mighty clear reception we're getting from you and that portable radio you got in that rubber life-raft bobbing somewhere in the in the Mediteranean sea Cobra. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
-Westy (P-38 Group)
I just would like to know who the two 109's were that NEWGUY and myself 'persuaded' to depart the battle area and allowed us to gallantly escort the our two B-17's leisurely from the, now no longer hostile, enemy air space to friendlier skies...
p.s.s I know one P-38 group short handed and currenly missing it's fearless leader Citabira. They (we) could sure use you Nuttz!

Hehe Westy!
Sox, BigJoe, and I felt generous that day and decided to LET the B17's and those ugly things u fly leave our airspace. BUT, do not even hope to think that our generosity will extend beyond that (as 4 of your P38 capitalist pigs found out shortly after we graciously allowed you to run back to mom and apple pie (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) )
Wolf...any guy who brings beer with him is welcome in my book...hehe.
