Addictions here have many forms. Whether it's a perfect escort or a base capture done efficiently like clock work..A perfect bomb run or a fighter sweep that is done by the book and taking names. It might be winning the war with tactical expertise.

My addiction is different. I like to be knee deep in it and see what shakes out.

I admit that's kinda silly and won't get me nothin in the overall picture.. But it floats my boat.

After thousands of hours of flying since mid year of ninety eight I had "the" sortie.

I killed one, and he didn't even count. Killing him got me "in" to being knee deep.

But what transpired after killing him and getting knee deep is what it's all about.

The BEST 10 minutes of flying that I have EVER had.

...and I didn't kill one of them.

I don't know who they were.

I don't know who to thank..

IT ROCKED.

So whoever was west of A-9 fighting a Bish Spit who was all alone Friday night on the deck around 7pm pacific.. A couple of Spits, a 190, a Yak and a 38.

One of ya's got my oil and engine and I had to ditch.

THAT ROCKED

It just doesn't get any better than that.

JB it's an old post from a long time ago. It started out as "I finally found a way to improve my skills". It's in three or four parts. It was fun to write. It's at the squad website in my sig under stories.
