I think it would be useful if everyone could please post the video card they are using successfully with AHII. This thread can then be used as a quick reference/poll for those needing to upgrade. (me) Add any stats/specs you think are useful.

ATI 9500 Pro, 75 fps.
-
nVidia GeForce 4 MX440---PCI version
FR:
Best so far: 60(Monitor set at 60 Hz; could do better)
Average: ~35-40
Furball of 25-30 planes in close proximity: 18-24
PCI is the one that time forgot. Go AGP; this card is in both slot types
-
Radeon X800XT
Frame Rates - Have gotten up to 700 (even tho monitor can't handle that much) with 150-200 in furballs. Around 100 with VSync turned on
Format - AGP Slot
Price - $500
Pricey but worth it. :)
-
Why would you pay fer that kind of FR anyway? My eyes only notice a difference at 20 lol
-
It came with the puter I built. Plus AH isnt the only game I play. I play some othe soldier based games from time to time, not much tho. It's worth it if you broaden your gaming horizon passed AH. Not everyone is dedicated to AH only ya know. :p

worth it??? for ah2 no!! Maybe for ah10. You have to be rich. My system that I am buying cost $500. If you just bought to play ah2 most of the time. You went overkill.

about 45-72fps (vsync stops it there) (somthimes i get a drop to 45 but I dunno why, its very seldom)
with max setting antialiasing to x8 and anisotropic to x16
resolution is 1280-1024
video card and sys in sig.
edit: just changed my driver to forceware 61.76 and DX 9.0c and framerate is steady with 72 no more bumbs to 45 thank god :)

ATI Saphire 9000 pro 128mb is doing very nicely in AH2 with moderate detail settings & res.

If you read 1 post right above yours, you will see I already answered your question before you even asked it regarding "other games". :D

um you said that you play other games from time to time. Still that means you are playing ah most of the time. Meaing that you went overkill.:p

nvidia Geforce4 Mx 440 Bx PCI
with settings on "performance", 32 bit color, 1024 x 768, get frame rates up to 75 at alt, 35-40 down low, lower with furballs or smoke but still playable. Not bad for $20 plus shipping.

Yes I do play games from time to time, and play AH mostly. Wow, deffenetly a weak troll. You need to keep your mouth shut, cuz ya don't know what your talkin about. Cheapass :D
Remind me to never help you with your puter stuff again.

First Calm down. And I am not worrying about what you buy. If you dont want anybody to know what you buy. Dont post it, I was just saying that its overkill and it is. If ah recruired a 500dollar card just to play it I dont think alot would have been playing ah.
-
I posted because the man asked. You are the flametard that decided to take a whack at me. Thus I countered. And I DO play other games, so what if they are time to time, I still play them. I broadened my gaming horizons so to speak. I also like having a sweet card that can play anything I decide to buy. Let me put this in a way you'll understand.
Almost anyone would take an X800 over a 9800 if money wasnt an option. Tho it is, it was a 300 dollar add on for me and I had the money so I did it. When ya gain common sense, you'll understand why you annoyed me.

Let me ask you something. If he asked you to go jump of a cliff would you???

Mad I make sense huh? Ohh well, Im done with you, gonna let this tread get back to its original topic.
-
And I didnt take a whack at you or whatever you call it. It was a freakking joke. You went all ballistic over one simple joke. You went overkill, some advice to you calm down and dont take things so serioulsy. I wonder if you snap like that all the time someone tells you a joke.
-
Well in any case, whatever it may be its an awesome card. To prevent any further flames you could go with a 9800 and youd still see great results. Or even a NiVidia. Think they just released a 6800? Bit pricey but supposed to be the best out now. They make alot of great cards tho.
-
Might help if people say what resolution they are running, besides just stating the frame rates.
-
just editet mine so res is given too.
-

Careful shopping on ebay. got it from some folks doing business as Essex Technology in Nashville. They have a virtual store and a decent feedback rating. Do a search, they or someone else bound to have some for sale.
-
Ok... so what cards won't work with AHII?
lazs
-
I have a card similar to those mentioned above. All other components are less than a year old except for my soundcard. It's an SB Live 5.1.
What effect does the high speed connection have on frame rate? Mine is ADSL.
What effect does the sound card or it's drivers have on frame rate?
If anyone knows this, I would appreciate the input.
Thanks...

My video card is called 'Magoo'

BOAT, what are your settings, driver that you're using to get those FR's? I've got a 9600, plenty of RAM. I would like to get those in MA. I can get that high offline only.

This thread is a year old. Please stop resurrecting old threads because nobody else checks the dates and they all start posting their card specs like it's still relevant.
