It's a "hill climb", close but no cigar.

Karaya

Millen has a corner on the Pikes Peak market.

Got it here too!  I've gone the last couple years.  These drivers are the best in ANY racing sport!

All the WRC events are held on roads.  Some of them are unpaved but they are still roads.  They use the term "Raid" or "Rally Raid" or "Baja" for the off-road stuff.

I agree Funked - but why oh why can't the "real" manufacturers beat this French C**p - Peugot and Citreon :(

Ford have lost their way and what happened to Mitsubishi??

Perhaps because they're more crappy than Peugeot and Citroen ?

(I know it's hard to swallow)

Peugeot still use the 206's in rally?  Forget what Citreon uses.  Ford doesn't do that bad.  Martin is good.

What is that above the windshield on the port side?  A tv camera?  Or is it some sort of additional air intake?

Its a GPS transponder so that race control can know where they are on stage. If the car rolls it automatically sends out a "distress" signal and aid is sent. The distress signal can also be sent without the car rolling from a switch on the dash.

Ford and Subaru are well ahead of Peugeot in the points.  Citroen is ahead of everybody, but this is as much a result of good luck and good drivers as it is a result of the car.  Mitsubishi is out of it, but it's very close between the other four teams on any particular stage.

Just as a side note, in the original full size version of that photo you can see the distance markers on the side of the road, Martin jumped over 50 meters, half a football field.

Yeah WRC drivers I believe are probably the best in the world, followed closely by F1.

Anyone see Hockenheim this weekend? Granted another Michael victory, but the racing for 2-9 was pretty good most of the time.
