Trying to change monitor to 75 Hz (From 60) by using the nView Desktop Manager (nVidia people's idea of a good time).
When the screen shows up and asks me if I want to keep the current setting the right side of the screen has a black strip about 1.5 inches wide. I'm not keeping that setting till I know I can make that strip go away cuz boy have I had some weird things happen to my drivers. Was trying to play a really old game once and it flipped my screen -90 degrees and smashed the picture. Good ol' Intel didn't come with a rotate screen. Bastages.
ANYWHO, after this is done, can I just use the menu opened by the buttons on my monitor to correct this, is it fixed in Window, will it get stuck like that...?

My monitor allows you to adjust screen size with buttons. If i set the res too high the picture seems to get compressed and sometimes rebooting sets it to full size. Suggest you reboot/shutdown before adjusting screen size.
I've got mine set to 72hz right now due to streaking. Seems it's just gettin old :(

those stripes show up when the refresh rate is changed.. i dont know why, just every monitor i hav ever seen does that.
all you need to do is fiddle with the buttons on the moniter itself. resize and reposition the screen image and all will be good.
that is if i am reading your post correct, that the image on the screen no longer reaches the edge, and the stripes you talk abotu are black blank areas either above / below or on the side of the screen image.

Yeah you read it right, just I'm never sure about anything that has to do with video. ty

Are you using Win XP?? In the monitor selection in the
control panel has a checkbox that states something like
" Show only compatible refresh rates". Ive noticed the lower
your video card reolution settings are, the more higher
available screen refresh rates are available.
