If lucas is a hack he will ruin the final chapter of Starwars, just like he ruined one and two.

The hole green guido guy shooting first was the begining of suck fest that is now Starwars.

Curse him!!

Good point.

I'm not into Star Wars anymore, but I really enjoyed Zahns books about 12 years ago.

another CGI show off movie. No story no real characters like the orginal series. I wish movies would go back to the monster masks and suits. They had character, alot more believable than these CGI casts.

Lets see if the terrible leagacy being afforded the original trillogy has sunk in with lucas.  Perhaps this last one will be something to see.

Agree SunKing. Scifi was alot better in the day of masks and real models.... if it was done right that is.

Egads, the Timothy Zahn Star Wars stuff absolutely sucked.  I'd rather watch 100 hours of The Phantom Menace with my eyelids pryed open Clockwork Orange style than have to suffer through that craptacular set of books again.

Are you mad?  Zahn's stuff was great.  Hated Anderson's though...

I hated them both.  Neither felt like "Star Wars" to me.  The new movies may suck, but at least they feel like Star Wars, warts and all.  Zahn's stuff felt like crappy sci-fi rolled in a Star Wars wrapper.

My eye sockets hurt from all the eye rolling when, for the upteenth time, Thrawn figured out what the good guys were going to do because he studied their artwork.  Hoo boy.

Only thing about the new movies that gives them a Star Wars feel would be John Williams :)

New title, meh.  I have no opinion on it.  I'm still going to see it regardless.  Hell, it's friggin starwars.  I dont care if it potentially blows goats at midnight, it's SOMETHING new :)

Yep.  Lucas originally planned to call it Revenge of the Jedi, but changed his mind after a couple of posters had been printed up with the original title.

Have to disagree there.  Pace, flavor, atmosphere, phrasing of dialogue...all very Star Wars like.  Dialogue especially he really did extremely well, he managed to bring out each character unchanged from the movie, but at the same time none of the painful cheesiness that the movie dialogue suffered from.  "No he did NOT say duck.  He said get ready to duck.  I would think the difference would be apparent even to you."  I can't imagine a better representation of 3PO talking to R2.

Not at all.  The old ones had much epic atmosphere, and suggested a universe of interesting possibilities through characters like Solo--which Zahn did a great job building off of.  The new ones are cheap action flicks at best, complete with poorly done comic relief.  And enormously misplaced and incoherent references to the originals.  Boba Fett's dad?  Please.

The new ones have a level of wartage that the originals could not hope to achieve.

Nothing wrong in that.  SW was never about intricate plot twists and turns...that's not what makes it appealing.  Like the Force itself, you don't examine that kind of stuff too closely anyway in SW.  Phillip K Dick it ain't...but it's good nonetheless, for other reasons.

Have been playing two characters on SWG, one each on kettemoor and sunrunner.  One is a master rifleman/TK and the other a Master musician/Image Designer.  Been having a absolute ball just trying to learn how to tie my shoelaces.  not sure about the PvP thing and the specials though. Still havent advanced far enough to get invovled with that stuff.  Yet.

Its been a wonderful change of pace after nearly 7 years of WBs and AH.

I just got into SWG.  They were running a free two week promotion so I figured I'd give it a go.  I've really been enjoying it thus far.  The more I play, the less I realize I know about it...which I feel is a good thing as it keeps me interested.

I will most likely continue my subscription once the trial period is over.  There are a large number of possibilities one can explore, and I've only just begun to develop my character.  I find it quite amusing that a womp rat offers a significant challenge, and over 90% of all NPCs I encounter would deal me a quick death should I decide to engage them.  I mean here I am thinking I'm king of the world when I lay into one with my carbine for 200+ damage, and notice their health meter barely budged...and the return barrage drains my health to almost zero.

Anyway, I'm not quite sure what server I'm on at the moment...I just chose the recommended one on character creation.  Any of you vets out there care to take in a relative newbie and offer advice/tips?  My character is a combination marksman/scout/medic with novice artisan skills.  I'm pretty much at the point where killing the small creatures is a waste of time, but going solo against the larger ones is suicide.

What is your game ID?  I am a member of the AbFab guild and make my residence in Tusken Vale.  Name is Slingshot Jones.  Been spending a lot of time hunting rancors on Dathomir lately....trying to finish master swordsman so I can move on to something else.
