Ok, so I have a big chunch of yard that is obscured by my giant garage. The weeds back there were just out of control, so yesterday I went out to clear them out. My plan was to chop everything down with hedge clippers and a weed-eater, then spray civilian grade agent orange on the ground to kill whatever was out there.
When I first went out to clip down the weeds, I noticed that my neighbor's bamboo has encroached into my yard. While I understand that this would torque most people, since Bamboo is a total ***** to get rid of, I saw this as an opportunity.
As I mentioned, the Area is obscured by my Garage, which is detached, and located on a seperate lot behind the residence. So I though: Why not corrall the Bamboo, trench the surrounding area, and create a small bamboo garden behind my garage. Essentially, this would be something that oculd be done to halt the enemy agression on my soil.
So, has anyone grown Bamboo at all, or had to fight it off?

I grew a little one.. in a cup full of rocks. Does that help?

depends if its a clumper or runner.. might want to find out. From what i know, clumpers are controllable while runners grow like nuts everywhere.

bamboo is nasty stuff...nasty in huge expense to pull out when mature..
but I find it a very strong plant...great for shade and making punji sticks
