Sitting here looking at my bank account. The Russia trip has put me $3000 in the red, in addition to a $4300 old old loan.
Still, I'm probably gonna need more money.
My big passion is pretty well known - I like to skydive. I do not own a car. Have never been able to afford getting a driver's license. Live in a 1 room flat (very nice btw). No girlfriend, no real non skydiving friends (anymore). My computer is an old P3 1Ghz, and I'm supposedly a computer geek.
All my money and most of my spare time go to skydiving and I really cannot see another way to live. My social scene is a male dominated one, my close friends either skydivers or BASE jumpers, or both. Everything else seems secondary to having fun with these guys, and I have a hard time taking my job, authorities, money, relationships and all such things that appear to matter to others seriously. Gone from being a pseudo-intellectual to a DZ bum. If it wasn't a good life, I'd worry about myself.
There's a hardcore group at my DZ who live similar lives. Outside skydiving I haven't met any, but then again, I don't meet many people ;).
Since AH is one of the few things aside from skydiving I find entertaining and since I'm still part of this community, I feel that I can ask you bastards if you got something that does the same things to you, or if you've had.
Spit it out, you bastards. :D

I had a burning passion once, but the doc gave me a shot and it went away eventually. It hurteded :(
-
Track junky, here.
-
My family, hunting, golf, outdoors, history, job, and horses (although I don't have one anymore...wont fit in the backyard dammit)
-
I do my grind. Provide for my family and try to enjoy myself along the way, but happiness comes in small doses, few and far between. Maybe when my kids are grown, I'll find the time to get a real life.

Paintball, paintball and more Paintball.
I dont' think there is a better sport out there. Where else is shooting women and children not only acceptable, but encouraged? :D
Nothing like dispensing some indiscriminate justice on some unsuspecting fool.

Used to be Paintball (Quit playing just as Nitrogen systems came out) been debating about getting back into it, but I just spent insane amounts of money on it and lack of sponsers now would make it too damn expensive.

Miniature wargaming.
The history, science, researching battles and O/B's.
The terrain modeling and the painting of tiny military formations.
The never ending quest for the perfect set of rules.

Crisp fall sunrise, slowly manifesting its gold and purple and violet colors against scattered clouds, viewed through the variegated foliage of a hardwood forest, and surrounded by the nut-like aroma of a leafy-mold underfoot. Oh, and accompanied by the distant bawl of a red-bone hound following a scent.

Have any moderns? I have a bunch of WW2 armour and a bunch of cold war Soviet armour. At one point I had a complete BMP moter rifle regiment.

We can fix your problem. ;)

How far is Salina?
-
Salina is about 90 minutes from where I hunt. ;)
In fact, my El Cheapo Coachman is parked in Salina right now. Going out next week to get it.
-
We have a plant in Salina. I'll try to finagle a visit. :D

Getting my golf game back to where I could compete on a national level. 2nd or 3rd tier tour would be just fine.

Toad,
You know I grew up in Salina.
November...I'm there. Still have lots of places I'm sure I can line up for us.
MT,
You would like it, especially watching a good dog work.

I'm sure I would. I'd just like to let my dog run free in a field. Not much opportunity for that here.
Been to Salina once. I liked it. Great old homes and a feeling of community.

We'll we'd have to put him on a lead rope ~ 30 feet long.
Funny things happen to normally obedient Labs when they first get a snootful of hot pheasant scent.
I mean, you do want to see him again, right?
-
Pongo :
No moderns here. WW2 stuff in 1/285. Still trying to complete the collection with late war stuff like Panthers, Comets, JS 2's and Easy 8's. At the rate I'm going I'll be 80 before it gets done.
Narsus : Really? I'm very doubtful. Can you give me any clues?
-
MT,
Yeah, that's Salina.
It was a good place to grow up.
If you go there again, let me know. I'll take the time and drive back there.
It used to have a great pizza place called The Scheme. If it's still there you have to try it. That and Cozy Burgers. Just don't go in there to get them. You'll never get the smell off your clothes.
-
And those are open on saturdays? Wow...
-
LOL Saw, you Bastige!!
Hey, I might be due another trip to "We're not open on Saturday" land in the fall.
You up for some more beer sampling?
-
Dang it StSanta you've probably inoculated the skydiving virus to me...
See? (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125274)
I'm doomed...
-
Shane being forced to fly a C-47 forever.

obedient? LOL
He's pretty good, not great. He does go deaf when a rabbit flushes or a ground squirrel is nearby.
I think he'd be pretty good at working a field though. Seams to naturally work the area. No qualms about crashing through brush.
He is pretty good on a leash now. When we use the extension leash he will never cross a street without waiting for me. I better have a good grip if a cat goes by though.
Remember he was 3-4 years old when I got him. Lots of bad habits.
-
Stringer, am definately up to it... but I got to plan in advance now *mumbles something about women*
I should be in Amsterdam next week end, and Strasbourg mid August... but other than that, I'm your man :)
-
Hunting, Fishing, spending time with my boys and my wife. Enjoying life to the fullest by watching my boys grow and learn things about the outdoors through experience. Other than that I enjoy coaching kids and teaching them how to play football. I do it for free and only ask that the kids have fun doing it.

Game over man game over.
:D
