Found a video with a compilation of air crashes. http://sky.prohosting.com/funday9/air.wmv
-
wow some spooky stuff there.
thanks for the find
-
First one is a non piloted plane, it was a computer pilot.
1st SU-23 crash was sheer determanation to stall it and send it straight down, not into the crowd.
Last one is Tokyo Airport, or Japan somewhere...
-
What? First one is a crash due to an automatic pilot feature malfunctioning. 6 people on board were killed.
-
The B-52 crash was done by a careless pilot known for taking risks with B-52's that he should not have taken, flew at airshows, always a showboater.
USAF Lt. Colonel Mark McGeehan tried to have Col "Bud" Holland grounded for his "hot dog" flying. When this resulted in nothing more than a reprimand of Holland, McGeehan ordered his flight crew not to fly with Holland unless he was aboard. McGeehan died aboard the B-52 that Holland crashed at Fairchild AFB on June 24, 1994.

Had the same feeling....
When you stop and think about it, we just watched hundred of people die, even without the WTC footage.
It really makes you stop and take a moment to think how fragile and precious life is.
-
The first clip was NOT non-piloted, Hawklore, it was a full plane. The pilot overrode the safety system for his low pass at an airshow and brought his engines to full idle. When he realized he was low on energy, he pushed the throttles to their stops, but it took too long for the turbines to spin up to producing power so he hit the trees. Most of the passengers survived, the fatalities were in the single digits.
-
Coming from someone whos been in a plane crash, thats a little scary. I hope this video wasn't made as a "Wow! look at the fireball on that one!" video.
Sadly, I believe it was. Its a little creepy.

I think we should see it everyday lest we forget.
-
Yeah, that Twin Towers crash didn't need to on here. That single incident over the others was a terrorist, murdering, deliberate act.
All the others were pilot judgement (stupidity in some cases) accidents.

X2Lee, you speaking for yourself here?
There are things that I'll NEVER forget as it is etched in my mind permanent. The Twin Towers incident I'll never forget, ever.
Edit***
Naw, sometimes it is best not to get saturated by an event. Seeing it over and over would tend to numb me and desensitize me to it. I don't ever want to get to the point that I'll ever think of that incident as somehow ordinary.
-
personally i don't see how its worse seeing that clip as to watching war footage.
its one of the biggest events in modern times, it has to be shown to educate future generations of what happened.
-
ughh..very dipressing..
on the third plane..i think its a dc-10? one with engine on top near the tail...
it looks like touchdoen of runway is already on fire..or it may be the sodium lights...but why does the plane explode after touchdown? grainy footage..
and the ..Military chopper refueling...takes afew feet off its rotor......does this guy land?
btw i read almost that whole report about Bud Holland...dam man..what a chain of events...
He called the navigator a pssy....cause they were flying 15 feet over a ridge..omfg...
-
wrong saburo...
the other commercial liner dicthing into the see was a hijaked plane...
the dummofokers made the pilots run out of gas...the pilot tried to dicth it close to shore in the water..i do beleive there were surviviors..
I dont think this video was a wow..look at fireball......you hear the music>?..made my heart slow down
I remember the night before my firts solo..i found a website with all these legally distrubetd Blackbox recordings...wow...very bad to hear the pilots last words.....
the one stciks into my mind is the plane that rolled off end of runway into the potamic river....
You here the pilots going thru checklists..but he saw the flap light on..but it doesnt tell you the flaps are at 30 degrees or 10 degrees....he just says.."flaps check"....when they realize they arent getting lift you hear a very strained voice yelling powerrrr!
Pilots!!!!! Dont get sloppy!!
reminds me of my one non lethal mistake..
I usally fly the c152..no fuel pumps..once inawhile i fly the piper cherokee...w/ fuel pumps.....
I was at the gas station after my flight topping the tanks....I said ..bahh i dotn need a check lists to taxi to my chalks....i was there for 5 min...saying wtf my engine wont start!....stupid...fuel pumps werent on..;(
be careful out there guys

Man I hate watching commercial ones.

btw. You left so quick I didn't get a chance to salute you for that fight.
Salute GS. I had a few scalps, A spit i chased down from 17k
and kilt in a turnfight, a 38 I kilt in the deck, and did you see that smoking jug behind you? He was gonna be next. He was wearing some of my 50 cals already. Good shot, and wtg on not overshooting. I had planned on killing you then finishing the jug!
Ah the best laid plans of mice and men.
Sabaru, I was speaking in broad terms. Too me it seems that many have forgotten already, they wont show the footage on TV anymore because it make folks feel bad. It makes me feel bad also to the point of tears. But it needs to be shown I think
They are planning more attacks.

Ahh, thanks for the info. Didn't know about that one.
The computer I'm using doesn't have sound so I can't hear any music/sound effects.

Ahh, okay I understand where you're coming from. Yeah, it may seem that we're forgetting about it but, I think most of us just won't ever forget as it's burned in our memory.
Yeah, they're planning more attacks, but it won't be by airliner. No plane full of passengers will ever let that happen again. You can bet on one thing. If I'm ever unfortunate to be on an airliner that has an attempted hijacking, those terrorist will be carried out in body bags. I will make sure I'll snap the neck of each and every one. Oh, I'm not some superman, mind you as I'll need help from the other passengers. All I need is for the other passengers to hold them down. There is no cause from anyside worth killing innocent civillians over. Gloves are off in that case.
-
wrong saburo..did you not hear of the flight where th e"syrian" band was running around the plane?..ill post a link..really scary thing...

It's amazing how a human being will fight with such ferocity when they've the battle is life or death.
If I'm going to die, I'm taking as many of them with me as I can.
But imagine a more terrifying scenario.
What do you do if the highjackers round up all the kids on the plane and hold box cutters to their throats?
What if one of those kids is yours?
You know they're going to kill everyone on board anyway, but can you stand to watch them murder the children as you launch into the fray?
Why do I even think of these horrible things.....:o
-
Why would anyone get any enjoyment watching a video of air tradgedys. What sick Fu** made this thing? To top it off they put that god awful song on it too. Tasteless
-
THat last 747 landed like I do in Il2.
Cant believe nut jobs are still saying it was an f15 that hit the WTC.

What do you mean 'wrong Saburo'? Like I posted earlier, I can't hear a thing as this computer doesn't have any speakers hooked up. No I can't hear a thing.
I'll go to my 'for entertainment' computer to check it out. No sound on this "for photography business" no sound computer.
-
I take it some of you guys havent set in a ready room during slow times?
I have seen more nasty crashes doing that....right before a flight, then anytime in my life. I'm talking horrid crashes with "running with the devil" as the sound track.

Well we know that we're all going to die as well as a lot of other innocent civillians on the ground. No quarter, we attack. Not a single one of those terrorists gets out alive. Any of the terrorists that actually kills or hurts any of the passengers, I'll save for a most brutal, painful death. I'll rely on the help from the other passengers, though. I'll not allow any terrorist survivors to survive only to be let go in some hostage swap.

LOL, man, here I go turning on the other computer expecting music from a syrian "band" playing in a video. Doh, man my reading comprehension isn't too good when I'm sick.
Yeah, I saw that article, but I'm wondering if some of the details are not just a bit 'tweeked' by a possibly paranoid account. How true is this story? I don't know. If it is true then obviously they weren't terrorists as nothing happened. If the account was true why didn't anyone else file complaints. The flight crew?
Hmm. Don't know how true/accurate that story is. Yeah, I don't trust 100% everything I see through the media (particularly eyewitness accounts - have 20 witnesses, you get 20 versions of what happened).
-
yes saburo..whatever happened we knwo there wa s aband of syrians running around the cabin...
good enuff for me to say..why the frikn flight crew did not say..YO ..you 14 mofo'rs..sit ur asssssss down..do you all need to hold hands on the plane or what?
theres a few links floatn around..
look at my new one..
kamikazze commercial airlines

ROFL!!! :rofl Gawd, you have a way with words!!! FUNNY!!!
You got that right, if what really happened as was written, you'd think that some passengers and the crew would of done something.
Could it possibly be an accounting that wasn't actually true? I find it odd that the things reported going on if true weren't acted on. I'd take it there would be a lot of reports from other passengers describing that incident?
LOL, I'm still laughing at your line...sig material. :D

The B747 video at the end was from the old Hong Kong airport (forgot the name) prior to the end of British rule. That was pretty much the standard approach due to the proximity of the border and airspace of Communist China. BTW that was a successful landing, saw one of a UAL 747 left wingtip kissing the approach lights at the same airport. Will try to dig up the name of the field.
-
And that Korean airlines jet went particularly wide. There are some worse ones around than that though.
And yes, I watched the video, and yes, I regret doing so.
Cheers,
Scherf

Kai Tak runway 13 was with the prevailing winds 90 percent of the time.
nothing to do with Communist China, but rather a big bellybutton mountain. That film looks like it's taken from the checkerboard, on said mountain. The ils is on said checkerboard, and the approach is at an angle 45 degrees off of 13. Aircraft fly a final to the checkerboard, then a hard right and touchdown, hence the nickname "Kai Tak heart attack". Throw in some crosswinds (and the 747 doesn't put a wing down first, it just slides all tires in at the crab angle), and it gets really festive. There's some better video and stillshots out there of podstrikes, blown approaches, aircraft touching down off the runway, all kinds of good stuff.
-
I fly for a living, I always enjoy watching plane crash videos, I read many books on plane crashes, I listen to countless Cockpit Voice recorders (the most creepy).
I even dream at night of loosing a wing and crashing. I never auger on purpose in a flight sim, makes me feel uncomfortable.
We have a saying: "FAA regulations are written in blood". Studying crashes makes you a safer pilot. there's nothing sick about it.
-
Ahh my bad then Dinger :( I was under the impression that it was due to limited airspace constraints, live and learn ;) .
