I just got a new video card from a freind, I got no instructions on how to put it in and he is gone for awhile. All I know is it's an Nvida chip and will work on AHII. I just need instructions on how to put it in and remove the old one, and wat I have to download if I have to download anything. Thanks a lot

Howdy Top,
I believe the following link should cover everything you need.
http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123109&highlight=omega+drivers
However,i'm sure someone has a better link to more info.
try doing a search within BBS.

First thing you want to do BEFORE you remove your old card
is to remove the old drivers from the "add/remove" section
of the control panel. It is generally quite obvious what the
driver's name will be assuming you know the company name of the old card . Just remove it, then reboot again WITH your OLD card again. This is done to make sure the old driver has been purged from the registry. (OH..actually the first thing you want to do is get the latest driver for your nvidia card..think its at http://www.nvidia.com..download it but DO NOT install it till youv'e done the above.)
Next..shut comp off and install new card..boot up. once at
desktop, install new driver. Once driver has been installed it
will advise you to restart your machine (again so it registers the driver in the registry). Voila..new card ready

the site is http://www.nvidia.com not http://www.nvidia.com..drivers

Huh??..that made absolutely no sense.. are you saying
there ARE two ports on the video card, or two ports IN
your machine for the video card??
There are two POSSIBLE places to install your card, but
it will only go into one or the other. One is the brown AGP
slot, and the other slots are PCI slots (the white ones). Just
look at the part of the card that will be inserted..it will be
obvious by the length of it as to which slot it will go into.
AGP slots are shorter than PCI.

I meant to say was on my old Video card the slot was too small, for the new one, I have five other ports one being taken up by my phone connection chip, and my new video card fits in thoughs slots. What do i do? Keep both video cards in and do wat u said or take the old one out and put the new one in?

OOO i got it my chip is working thanks for the help. But i have one problem in AH log in, it still says i'm running on my old chip, how do i fix it so it would say my new Nvida chip??
-
i would do a dxdiag 1st
Start/run/ type in Dxdiag
This refreshes your dxfiles so it shows the new card
next go to C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\settings
Deleate the file named video8.cfg
now go start AH2 and it will run you thru the video setup .
after doing this it may not say your exact video card but it will work fine (ah1 never did call my ti4600 a ti4600 )
