Where do I dump the excess IQ points?
-
Didnt you get the DNC memo? No mean spirited arrogant liberal smugness during this weeks convention. We are supposed to show how forward thinking, hopeful and just how in touch we are with the commoners.
-
That's no trivial question... as the impact of this could destroy our wetlands and vital ecosystems.
I suggest a barge floating off the coast of Texas.
-
You mean the ones left over now that you've finally filled your brain to the "full" mark on the dipstick? Were you about a quart low or what?
;)
-
Midnight, you cannot. You place an emphasis on feeling rather than thinking.
-
This from a member of the Borg tactical cut 'n paste team.
No. 4 of Bore...
-
Well, its a toss up. To be conservative, you might have to dump a few IQ points.
But to be liberal, you have to be poor all your life (unless you are one of the democrats actually in office, then you must be amazingly rich and elite).
-
Any billionaires here among us?
Hows about those with a net worth in the mere millions of dollars?
How many in the hundreds of thousands pushin' close to a cool million?
I doubt many...
You tools are mere fodder for these guys....
Your rah rahing aint fooling some of us, for you are getting so totally owned it's embarrasing to watch sometimes.
-
Any man who is under 30 and is not a Liberal has no heart; and
any man who is over 30 and not a Conservative has no brains.
- Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
It's just a matter of time. No point in discussing it, it will come to you as well. Eventually.

Negative.
I can see the allure of the creeping of conservatism with age.
You wanna protect what you got.
But your quote is basically an admission of submission.
I'll choose humanity every single time until the day I die, and I won't surrender to the complete and tired illusion you unthinkingly toss out there...
As IF you are talking about yourself.
You worked hard Toad, and you got SCREWED.
No ifs ands or buts. It happened.
Go ahead, continue to be a soldier for false promises and weak slogans.
It's what they want, and in you, it's what they got.
Baffles the 5hit outta me.

I
We all have the opportunity to if we choose. Some are more inclined to make money, some are happy with their life no matter what income level. So how does that figure into your analysis that You (tools) are mere fodder for these guys.... ??
-
nash, why does it matter to you how much money I make?
Why should I let you tell me where the money I make needs to go? Isnt that the opposite of freedom?
-
You're not looking deep enough or historically enough Nash.
Time marches on; the liberal of today is tomorrow's conservative.
Yeah, there's a few aging hippies out there. But odds are, you'll be just like the rest.
You'll someday likely be a balding sixty year old that the teens will be laughing at as hopelessly conservative.
It's the history of mankind.
Enjoy.
As for your assessment, it had me rofl.

That is the biggest problem with public office, It seems if you work for the goverment, you are set for life. U work out in the real world, and you get screwed left and right

Hey, when it comes down to it... on this BBS... that's pretty much all I'm aiming for. :)
So thanks.
But your attempt at categorization (or what the shreck ever that's spelled) is just smallish....
Lotsa folks glued to Oprah or making nifty Christmas hand puppets a la the chick who just got busted - totally drawing a blank on her name.
Point is, it means nothing.
I'll choose to live my life with integrity. You go ahead and choose to live it under incredibly asinine pretenses under the banner of... I-dunno-what.
You go girl...

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If you’re young at heart
For it’s hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If you’re young at heart
You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on it’s way
Don’t you know that it’s worth every treasure on earth
To be young at heart
For as rich as you are it’s much better by far
To be young at heart
And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you’ll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

Aw c'mon.. tell me all you know about my life.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzze?
I mean, a man of integrity like yourself and all........ you must know everything so go ahead.
-
The essence of integrity is humbleness.
I am humble enough not to presume to know everything about you.
I'm merely interpreting the things you have said about your own life. And frankly Toad, your last one/two years don't paint a good picture wrt to how you got completely screwed.
I could be wrong... but that's my humbleness talking.
I may not always be right, but I'm never uncertain.
And I'm pretty certain here. I need to work on that, I know.
-
Ya know it ain't all just about money, though that certainly is important. Being a conservative, among many other things, means understanding that freedom ain't free (nor is it just another word). It must be protected, and not just with words but with actions. You don't have to give up any idealism to become a conservative MT, just open your eyes and wake up. :aok
-
Just how did I get screwed. I may have missed something in my life. Help me out here.
-
Aw...come on in MT...the water's fine.
The rumors of our depravity are greatly exaggerated.
I may be a conservative but I'm just sloppin' over with compassion. If you join before the first of November we'll plant a tree in Guatemala in your honor.
We'll even let you keep your IQ points.
-
HEY!!! I JUST NOTICED!!!! I'VE PASSED the 1000 POSTS MARK!!!

That would require mucho digging and punting of your threads.
Does Rip offer his services on a pay/hour basis?
Otherwise...
Okay, fine... Yer all happy about it and things are golden for you.
Cheers.
-
BTW, I always felt the essence of integrity was firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values, in short, incorruptibility.
I've never actually heard anyone link integrity with humility or being humble.
-
You must be humble to truly adhere.
You obviously didn't read the fine print.
-
Surely you can give me the "Cliff's Notes" of how I got screwed?
I mean, what happened to me? I may be going alzheimer's here, but I don't remember spilling the sad story of how I got shafted by someone or something out on the BBS.
Or it could be that I didn't get screwed?
C'mon Nash... don't play games with us oldsters! Spill it! What happened to me? I HAVE to know!
-
I am curious to toad...I mean if you got screwed I want to know so I dont make the same mistakes.
-
Ok shreck... this HAS to be minable... er, mineable... er mine-able..
... or whatever it's spelled when dudes go down shafts with lamps for coal.
I can't be arsed, but it's there.
-
So, you remember that I posted that I was screwed but you can't give even a two line summary of what happened to me?
I mean you just remember me posting "something"?
Is that it?
-
You're denying this Toad?
If so.... I have to surmise it's based on your confidence that I aint gonna spend any time looking for stuff.
So wotev...
-
I'm not denying ANYTHING.
I'm trying to figure out what you think you're talking about.
So far, you've been unable to post anything other than innuendo.
Go ahead... short version, how'd I get screwed? Don't write a book, just tell me what you think you know about how my
"last one/two years don't paint a good picture wrt to how you got completely screwed".
Go ahead. Print what you think you know.
-
Toad...match point
-
Jasta = Conservative
I guess I dumped my IQ points after I scored 32 on my ACT and getting a pilot's license. Not to mention a 4.0 GPA and a degree from the Limbaugh Institute of Conservative Studies ;) .
I didnt dump IQ points anywhere.
But I think a few brain cells jumped out and left after that agonizingly general and boring Kerry speech tonight.
-
okay shreck did you or did you not spend a month or so on this BBS... uhm.... discussing the loss of your job and how you felt about said loss of job, repleat with links to letters of union bosses et al...?
So there it is.
A coupla years now, you might see things in a different light. But pretending that it never happened is being... let's see... non-integriteagouslous.
butter you for that.... Stand behind your past and defend yourself in any way you see fit but never deny it at anyone else's expense.
-
I lost my job, correct.
It appears you don't know WHY I lost my job; it was medical.
I don't recall blaming anyone for my medical condition.
And no, I DON'T recall
"discussing the loss of your job and how you felt about said loss of job, repleat with links to letters of union bosses et al...?"
You may be confusing my job loss with a discussion about managment/union aspects of the overall demise of the US airline industry in the post 9/11 period.
But I surely don't recall anything I posted about "being screwed out of my job". I had a medical problem that caused the loss of my Class 1.
Stuff happens.
I don't miss the job either. The pay? Yeah. ;) The job? Nope, suxxored after 9/11 and continues to get worse. I salute the poor bastigees that continue to deal with the BS.
-
lol - medical reasons? First I've heard of that and despite all my faults I have REAL good memory.
The reason may have been medical... But it got overshadowed with the picture you chose instead to paint.
You had a huge bone to pick.
If you're so happy about it now, why were you so unhappy about it then?
Nah.... Total BS...
Like I said, I aint gonna do the search... You go ahead and portray this however you want.

Thank you, Nash.
I KNEW you didn't know what you were talking about.
Search all you like; you won't find what you claim to "know".
Don't search at all. I KNOW why I lost my job and I know what I posted.
Just another indication of how little you know about my life.
-
heh... so that's what you were spending the last ten minutes doing.
Came up dry?
How luscious for you...
Like I said, I can't be arsed to do some search to hold people to their words. That's gotta be up to you.
Integrity.
And an abject lesson right here. Thanks for providing it.
-
Wrong again, chum. Getting to be a habit with you.
I don't need to search; I know what I said.
Holding someone to their words? Look in the mirror.
-
You searched, Toad...
It's obvious in "Search all you like; you won't find what you claim to "know""
Dude, I know you did. Because I know you.
And you are lying.
-
Nash,
You blew it. It was medical.
The union stuff was in the management/union threads.
Stick to trolling about US politics, it's more enjoyable watching you bait and set your lines :)
But if you're gonna make a statement, then you should be arsed to back it up...you know, integrity stuff, or admit you blew it....you know, humble stuff.
And thanks for providing that abject lesson.
-
Nah, I was doing my post over in the other thread, the one on the Kerry speech.
Here's the lie for you:
did you or did you not spend a month or so on this BBS... uhm.... discussing the loss of your job and how you felt about said loss of job, repleat with links to letters of union bosses et al...?
That's a quote from you, Mr. Integrity.
-
Stringer are you in his squad?
Because maybe that's the source of your confusion...
He might have intimated his sordid medical details to you.
To us, it was a rant on something completely different.
Is he in your squad?
-
Toad? The refuting of my so-called lie is to quote a post I made a coupla posts up in this thread and call it a lie?
Wow... That's...er, overwhelming stuff. I'm floored.
-
Duh! I don't know!
Let's check the Avatars! Yeah, that's it!
Look, Nash... you ain't remembering right. Make it easy on yourself, Mr. Integrity.
-
Nope.
Quoted your statement to show you what a real lie looks like because obviously you're confused.
-
Oh neat - thank you for quoting what I just said and calling it a lie to prove it is somehow a lie.
Jeezus Christwagons....
What am I dealing with here?
Make it easy on myself?
Fine... Toss me a coupla tickets to Florida Disney Fantasy World and perhaps we can see eye to eye and have a good time in the process...
I don't get you...
-
To us...what, you got a mouse in your pocket or something?
I'm just watching you give us your version of humblenessness and integrityjuicyness.
Nash,
Your avatars are ded sexy, but I think you on the wrong scent on this one.
-
nash you must drunk. plz tell who your planning to backstabb in diplomancy.
-
Look Nash, you're lying about what I posted in relation to losing my job.
You made the charge but can't support it.
Very nice tactic, Mr. Integrity.
You don't need tickets to Fantasyland; you're living there.
Nighty-nite; it's past this oldsters bedtime.
-
Look Nash, you're lying about what I posted in relation to losing my job.
I am so not. You are the one trying to soften it. I remeber it well.
You made the charge but can't support it.
I don't know if I can or if I can't. I haven't tried, to be honest. But I do know what you told me. I listen to that kinda chit. To have you come back and tell me that what you said meant nothing to you bothers me. To see you deny it would almost make me sick if I weren't so used to it by now. Not just you....
Very nice tactic, Mr. Integrity.
I don't hide from the truth. Truth isn't a tactic. It just is, much to the chagrin of some folks.
You don't need tickets to Fantasyland; you're living there.
wow that was funny etc.
Nighty-nite; it's past this oldsters bedtime.
Sweet dreams.

Toad, the impression I got from what you posted last year is that you were getting out because of the state of the airline industry, to protect your pension.
A quick search found a couple of threads:
As for the rest, believe me, I am not depressed or anything like that. This was merely a business decision based on my own research and experience.
I've flown as a profession (USAF/DAL) since 1973. Looking ahead, I see no more "good times" to be had between now and my mandatory retirement and I see a significant threat to my entire retirement package. When airlines are in bankruptcy, going to work is like going to a continuous funeral. I don't need that experience.
My SA may turn out to be wrong, but I'd rather lock down what I have than risk losing it all. Ask some US Air guys what happened to their pensions. They ended up with $0 when the bankruptcy judge terminated the plan.
It's just time to start a new career, that's all. I at least get to chose to do that unlike the millions of poor bastiges that have had the shaft rammed home and then broken off.
I'll be OK. As I said to a friend, I lived my fantasy for a long time, I guess now I have to grow up and find a real job.
So, that's all there is to say about it, Forrest!
No, old ancient retired folks like me still get passes but with a reduced priority. Last ones to get a seat basically.
And that should last as long as the airline does... possibly two more years or so.
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/defaultframe.html
Nifty, I'd cash them suckers quick. If AA goes Chapter 11 this week, all bets are off.
I am spending this weekend carefully contemplating and calculating submitting my early retirement papers Monday. Might as well try to salvage some of that. My brother at US Air lost all but about 15% of his retirement....... so far.
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/defaultframe.html

Nashwan:
How does one turn voluntary "early retirement" into
Toad, your last one/two years don't paint a good picture wrt to how you got completely screwed.
?
As for this,
you were getting out because of the state of the airline industry, to protect your pension.
that was all part of the voluntary early retirement decision.
However, there would have been no realistic early retirement option available to me had I not been on long term disability due to the medical aspect.
There's quite a bit more to the decision, some of which might or might not be interesting to others. There are obscure factors that weighed heavily in it, like the GATT rate. I don't recall posting my entire rationale here; I'm near certain I did not.
All that aside, there's no way anyone can portray my decision as a situation in which I got
completely screwed
nor did I portray it that way. What you've posted backs that up, IMO.

I've known since visiting Toad that it was medical. How many more vouchers does Nash need?
\Back to the thread, this thread perfectly portrays the difference between a (U.S. defined) conservative and liberal. One is honest, asking for facts and data, the other cannot provide facts and data and starts calling the other liar. Perfect Nash. You continually prove the differences.

As a former liberal you had a deficiency so we will e mail about 120 additional IQ points. that should bring you up to the minimum standard of 180 for conservatives. Enclosed you will find your testicles. Please be careful as we had a hard time making the correct genetic match to fabricate these for you. don't be concerned about their small size they will in time grow commensurate with your voting record, stands on issues, contributions to the RNC and proper posts on this BBS. Welcome aboard brother.

"This board is really going to hell in a hand basket."
The politics seen on this board are nothing more than a reflection of the politics seen in the country in general.
This election cycle bears a fair amount of similarity to the mud-filled 1828 election, right down to the incumbent who was painted as having "stolen" the previous election.
America certainly has its share of problems, but I don't think the mutual dislike our political parties have for each other is among them. I'd be more worried if they actually started to like each other since then they wouldn't cancel each other out anymore.
I don't like the Deomcrats because of their pandering to left-wing fringe groups.
I don't like the Republicans because of their pandering to right-wing fringe groups.
I don't like either of them because of their reliance on Big Money (regardless of its source).
I tend to agree with G. Washington's assessment that political parties ultimately serve only to harm the country. In fact....any beauracratic entity seems to harm the country since they tend to become self-serving. At some point "constituents" turn into mere "voters" (or, for the business-minded, "customers" become "consumers"); after which time true representative democracy is lost. We live in a time when elected officials of both houses now largely serve as representatives of their respective parties (right down to the "D" or "R" after their names), rather than representatives of the people who elected them. Regardless of whether you identify with one of these parties, this is not a good thing. The USA is in dire need of MAJOR campaign reform, yet I don't see it happening because the people running the show are the ones who need the fix. Eventually something will have to give, and I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

More people need to lighten up when they are called dip****s.
And more people need to brag about how humble they are.

Speaking of that one btw, does anyone have the original quote? What was it? I remember something along the lines of

I dont think Ive ever laughed so much at a BB thread as that age-old "that dirty guy were sneak-snappning photos of my girfriends legs"-classic.
