Title: ".salvo all" request
Post by: Krusty on July 31, 2004, 06:24:49 PM
I want an option that will salvo ALL my bombs at once. It's very realistic to see fighter/bombers drop all their mixed bombs at once. Especially on the FW, the Ju87, the SBD/TMB, etc etc etc.

So I want an option to type ".salvo ALL" and have it drop ALL my bombs (large and/or small) at once. This means having any bomb doors open in advance, yes, however it should NOT affect rockets (if applicable).

That's not so hard to program, right? The game knows the difference between rockets and bombs, right?

Oh, and on a secondary note, I want a way to differentiate WHICH bombs I have selected as my secondary on planes like the Ju88, where you have 4x500lb internal and external (did I hit that "switch" button 1 time? Or 2? 3? Do I need my doors open or not?) and the A20 as well (which has the same payload, I believe).

You fail to see the point.

In planes where you have MORE than one type of bomb, a ".salvo all" would be important. In B-17s it would not.

In a Fw190 you can have a 1k and 4x 250kg (or whatever). But you cannot drop them all at the same time. In a Ju88 you can have 4x500lb and 20x100kg, but you cannot drop the externals with the internals. In a Ju87 you can have a ~1700lb egg (can't remember exact weight) as well as smaller eggs, but you cannot drop them in the same release, which in real life the stuka could do (that is, it could release centerline and underwing bombs at the same time).

He is saying for example: the p47. you can have  2 500lbs and then 1 1000lb bomb that you can drop both of those at once. instead of pressing back space quicky before you are way off target.
