Alright I am trying to take the hardrive out of my old computer. But cant because its screwed in so tight. Everybody in my house has tried. Still wont come off. Any suggestions??

Its to small for that. Plus it only has screw head poking out.

is the HD bad? are you reusing it for another PC?
If possible you can leave the HD inside the case, usually there are lots more places in a case than just one spot for a HD. Change the dip switches to slave and the new HD to master, have extra HD space if its still good.
If it has to come out then maybe try a different screwdriver, usually a larger one will work. Another method maybe a hex bit inside a 1/4 in socket with a ratchet, sometimes you can get a good ammout of weight behind that ratchet and keep the bit from backing out of the screw head. If all else fails there is always vice grips, and a drill to knock the head off the screw, keep an eye on metal shavings if you have to resort to the drill bit.

Thnx I think I will try bigger scrwedriver. One more question Is refurbished Ram good. Our is it not worth the 30 bucks off. Keep in mind that i am only buying this stick for about 1month. Then i will be going to no used. Just trying to get to ah2 qucker.;)

Just dont waste your money on the ram period and wait a month.

Ram is the most important part you will put in your pc . (exspecially if your gonna overclock the cpu)
cheap ram is ok for a slower pc with standard clock timings .
but always buy "New" dont skimp here or you'll have problems .

If the bigger screw driver wont work, dremel out a slot in the screw so you can use a flat headed blade. If that fails then use a drill bit that is about 2/3 the size of the protruding screw head. You may have to drill into the actual carriage that holds your hard drive enough so that what is left of the screw will be taken down to allow you to slide the drive out or if you have no plans for the old computer take a flat bladed screw driver and pry between the hard metal casting of the drive body and HD carriage. The metal of the carriage will bend away enoguh to allow whats left of the screw to slide out.
Its not a pretty way to do it but it does work. I have had to do it myself a few times. There is a type of reaction btween aluminum and steel that takes place that can corrode the two together. In my case my HD had screws that were some kind of black steel screw. Also heat my have a problem with them sticking as well. Thats another story all together. Good luck.

It all depends. Since you said that everyone has tried to get it out then I can assume that the screw is stripped out. They arent really that hard to take out. I should know as I work on computers. If its stripped, check with all the small hand drivers until you get one that can get a bite on the screw. They arent really tightened too much, so a little bit of force should free it. Only times they are overtightened like you say is from people playing around in a computer that shouldnt be in there in the first place. Seen it too many times.

Now that you have the screw out and seeing how it gave you so much trouble, there`s not but one thing to do.
Get a REALLY big hammer and place the screw on a hard, flat surface. Pour lighter fluid over the screw and ignite it with a match, charcoal starter, etc. Now take the REALLY big hammer and pound the crap out of it until it is completely flat and about the size of a quarter. Be sure to sing something of Metallica`s at the top of your lungs while doing so. It will make you feel a lot better. :D
