This BB is supposed to be an open discussion forum about the game, Why don't you guys put up a list of rules for the BB's, here, I'll help with one of them...
Rule 1:
No Posts Regarding Cheating, Cheaters, Cheetahs Are Allowed Or We Will Lock Your Post, Threaten Your Account, And Basically Accuse You Of Lying.
HTC said If I believe so to send info and not spread rumors... I told him what it was, and how they were doing it. Call me crazy, but I think that would qualify as sending info, forgive me if I tried to help. I'll tell you what though, I am going to start filming EVERY SORTIE. Maybe HTC is right and unlike any other game in the world that is played on line, this game is somehow given divine immunity from the aforementioned problems, I find it very odd that every thread that mentions any similar problems gets locked out though. Why do you guys lock out these threads????

to be honest i agree with twitchy here.
he only answered a question from a new guy that was the original starter of the 'c' word.
IMHO Hitech was out of order to be so harsh on twitchy, but addmitedly he must also be totaly fed up with che...... i mean 'c' word threads.
anyone who needs to 'c' in a game to get satisfaction is a complete loser and should go out and get laid.

Twitchy you are right. You didn't really say anything wrong or bad.
But think of it this way. Dale and crew try really hard at their gig. Some folks might think all day long Dale is out flying his plane or building an R/C plane or having a glass of scotch, Pyro is out at the pub refusing drinks or...doing whatever Pyro would like to do, Ronni and Yankee are out buying expensive shoes and Skuzzy is standing over his BBQ cooking ribs.
I'm not sure (because i dont have the film), but i dont think that is the case... at all.
I'd be a little peeved too if someone called down what is most likely my life's work.
AH isnt perfect, but until I or you make a better product, or work harder than the HTC crew, we better listen to Thumper's mom.

basicaly they are covering up that there might be cheating, so other people dont look on HOW TO CHEAT.
Its kinda good and kinda bad that they lock/delete threads that mention that word.....Freedom of speach and all.......

It's not good to have cheating posts for the simple reason it creats conflict within the AH community, even if someone is cheating. Remember the Spanish Inquisition? That is the reason the film should be sent to HT then you should drop it. I feel HT will do everything he can to prevent people from cheating for the simple reason AH is his livelihood.
P.S. He did seem to come down on you way to hard though Twitchy
P.P.S. Wonder how many will be able to reply after me before this thread gets locked...lol?

I understand the concept of avoiding the conflicts, but where else are we going to discuss it, my point is that this is supposed to a forum to discuss the game , but apparently it is a forum to praise and raise up HTC, or to bash other players... There is plenty of conflict in the BB already in case you haven't seen it, some of you guys are really harsh at times.
Honestly, I would like to know what happens if we do catch somebody -c'wording- I think there should be consequences for it. Well known and oft implemented consequences to let people know that is unacceptable as supressing the information, locking posts out, threatening accounts does very little to prevent it, and even less to answer our questions about it, and filming it only gets a rubber stamp saying "It's Lag".
I know they work hard, hell everybody does, but I want to know why it is SO BAD to mention the C word on a BB that is a product of the community that plays the game when it is a problem we seem to be wanting to have addressed... Threatening my account and accusing me of spreading rumors and locking out a post by a new member who had a legit question is a real gem of customer service. Maybe you guys should warn new members about rule #1, cause when they see "LAG" :aok problems then they will know up front they can't discuss it in an open forum provided by the game designers. I agree with you overlag, they keep it quiet cause they can't really detect it or prevent it until after the fact, and then only if somebody has filmed it...
To the new guy who's thread got locked out...
I guess it was all just lag, there are no "c words" in AH...

Has HT ever posted anything about people getting banned for cheating? I'm just wondering if he would let us know if he did catch someone. I feel he should but that's only my opinion. There is not much reason to discuss cheating on the BBS because there is no way it can help, what would it accomplish? There is nothing that we can do about it so we might as well let HT take care of it.
P.S. I do see the conflicts, I just don't want it to get worse.

Its not as one sided as you portray.
In the past suspiscous films have been emailed to HTC and appropriate action taken when needed.
Players have been banned when necessary.
Hitechs policy seems to be as follows,
1. Nobody will be allowed to openly discuss the subject on this bbs. A policy i agree with as it will only tempt the tards to go looking for the means to do it.
And Knucklehead Twitchy even goes as far as suggesting where to look. :rolleyes:
If you have this information it belongs in a private email to HTC.
2. HiTech takes this subject very seriously and he has to. Now you may choose not to believe that but at the slightest hint he drops everything else he is working on.
I would bet a weeks wages against a pile of crap that he has already checked out your stats and if your in a squad everybody associated with it looking for any anomalies.
3. HTC will never comment on the findings of an investigation. So don't wait around for the email saying XXX is guilty as charged and the witchhunt can start.
4. Do not expect HiTech to be pleasant or polite on this subject it is taken very seriously.

Put your money where your mouts is Twitchy. You say in the locked thread that you know who is supplying and using the aimbot cheat. Give the name to Hitech. By not doing it you are just as big a piece of scum as the cheaters are.

LOL... Freedom of Speech... this isn't a public forum. Feel free to gather in the street and talk about whatever you'd like... but this is HTC'S BBS. I 100% agree that if you think someone is cheating you should like HTC know about it... but I just don't see this BBS as the place for it.

Cheaters exist in every game. There are some smart/lucky people out there who can find the cheats. It's our job to watch for anything strange, and then report it to HTC.
Posting it on the board serves no purpose but to encourage the masses to try to recreate what you're describing out in the open on a game forum that tons of people read.
Nothing constructive can come out of an open discussion about cheaters. I know its frustrating to watch someone defy the laws of physics, or do something else totally impossible. But if u tell the suits, they will take care of it. Cheaters are not good for business, and im sure they are not taken lightly.

I Have banned people for simply making a troll claim that they have been cheating.
Anyone found cheating is banned. No ifs ands or buts.
But rumors of cheating are almost as detrimental to AH as cheating it's self. And you have begun to spread rummors by your post. There by you have just made your self part of the problem.
People must have faith that the playing field of AH is a level one. Thats why I take both cheating and the rumor of so seriously,boh have a effect on my buisness.
You claimed to know of cheats, Well until you send me some information on it, I say you are just blowing hot air.
And a warning Twitchy, Don't push me on this topic either send me info dalea@hitechcreations.com , or remain quite.
We do a lot to prevent cheating in AH, but we never discuss what we do, because the discussion it's self makes it easyer for person to try cheat .
So don't expect me to be a resonable person on this topic, because this issue always gets my undivided attention.

:) I was just trying to be nice. Heck, even the people at EA dont wear suits. They wear uniforms with "EA" armbands, and keep their game testors in computer pits where they are continually whipped until they find every bug possible.

You missed the earlier post that got locked out. A newbie asked how planes were able to fly around like UFO's and warp on demand and I answered his question, er I mean gave him my opinion, and got flogged for it, had my account threatened (again), got accused of "spreading rumors", and told to be quiet like I were a seven year old child. :rolleyes:
FB, no there are no rules at all in this BB, at least none that are readily apparent, it seems to be at the whims of the administrators, wether or not they like you, and limited in that respect to only allowing posts which do not create any sort of doubts of the inherent perfections of the game or that create any sort of controversy.
I am wondering when this one is going to get locked out.
Furious, Nobody is poking, prodding or pushing HT here, A noob had a question, I answered it with an IMO about the c-word, tried to provide HTC some info that might actually help stop it and all hell breaks loose. IMO Aces High is a great game. I love it, and I play it every day, and have been playing it every day for more than three years now, but good god, this BB is WAY overmoderated. And over the three years I have played this game, I have payed them over 500 bucks to do it, but GOD FORBID some new guy gets on here and has a question about the c-word. Well, I guess he got his question answered when the thread got locked and he got to see what happens when somebody mentions it. I hope it doesn't scare him off, we need the players.
Oh yeah, and yes HT in answer to your question it was "modified" though I am not sure of the 'make and model'. I hope it helps.

Do you honestly think AH would be up and running, that the BB would be alive and kicking without us? We are the customers, we are the support system, we are, drunky, the ones that keep the game alive, I'm pretty sure HT wouldn't be very interested in maintaining a BB for free. My point, as meager meaningless, or confrontational as some of you seem think it is, is this...
LET US DISCUSS THE GAME.
The whole game, the good, the bad, the suspicions, the paraises, the bashing... it is all relevant.
If you are going to be locking people's posts, lock out some of those gems of people calling people **** and ***********
Nobody has directly accused anyone, nobody has said anything of legal consequence, but more importantly, nobody has said anything about the basic principle involved here, and that is, if this is a discussion forum, then by golly let it be discussed, this overmoderation and bashing is more detrimental to the game than 100 c-word threads. Also, IMO, very detrimental, is the supression of information. The solution to the aforementioned issue, in part, is acknowledging that there is a problem (this should sound familiar to a guy named "drunky"). Telling me to be quiet, isn't any way to treat a customer, and it sure as heck ain't no way to address the problem. It succeeds only in angering customers and casting that shadow of doubt on the issue.
Hey I know I'm nothing but a name on a screen to you guys, and I know my 14.95 isn't going to break HTC, but I also know what goes on in the MA, I'm there alot. I run a sqaud of 30(something), The best damn squad in the MA I might add (Oink! :8) ), and I think, just maybe, I might have a point here, and I will say it again, just to make sure you post bashers get it...

I honestly think it's a good thread, and it shows some real opinions, addresses real concerns, instead of dweeb this or ***hole that. It's ok to attack other players, but somehow not ok to ask questions or raise real issues. IMO I'd say Lighten up, and deal with dissention in a more congenial method than hollering for the thread to get closed out. You want to see nasty threads, search for the word dweeb etc. and read what is allowed and I think you will find this thread to be a pretty rational one. Banned for what? If you gonna ban folks from the BB, ban them for some of the rude garbage they spout.
