The biggest surprise for him was that they've found no weapons of mass destruction (WMD), the "reason we went to war." He says multiple Middle Eastern leaders, including Jordan's King Abdullah and Egypt's Hosni Mubarak, told Franks that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
In January 2003, Mubarak said point blank to Franks, "Saddam has WMD-biologicals, actually-and he will use them on your troops."

So Jordan, Egypt, USA-CIA, British Intel, Russian Intel, all thought WMD's were in Iraq?

KERRY, Im not going to list them all....every major and minor democratic leader in congress gave many speaches affirming that saddam had the weapons.
those of you that say bush mislead us or worse that he lied to us about wmds. how can you sleep at night knowing you are slandering someone ,lying about someone to ...what?

I have never seen such a mass lie spread among a country and repeated so much knowing it is a lie.

I agree. We only need people in national office who are incapable of being duped and do not make mistakes or draw the wrong conclusions from CIA or foreign intelligence reports.

That is the calling card of military incompetance. Belieiving what you want to believe and not what your intelligece supports.
As long as you attack coutries that are far weaker then you its not a big deal.
Unless they are the Boars or the Isrealis or the Vietcong or etc etc'

UN sanctions forever? inspectors too busy packing/unpacking their suitcases to inspect what cheekbones saddam allows them to inspect when he says they can? more intel telling us this nutbag has weapons and will use or sell them to other nutbags who would?
sorry we did what we had to do when we had to do it - hope we act the same exact way give the same exact set of circumstances

Like the aluminuim tubes which were supposedly for the Iraq nuclear program, dismissed by the IAEA, US dept of Energy, US burea of Intelligence and Research, and the Office National Assesments (aust equiv of CIA) but still managed to find its way into the speeches of GWB, John Howard, and Tony Blair as evidence of the Iraqi nuclear program. Or the Niger uranium story known to be fraudulent by the ONA in 2002, CIA and the US embassy in Niger still managed to find it's way into said politicians speeches exposing an Iraqi nuclear program.

The Niger story turned out to be true and the intelligence official who debunked it and wrote a book about it and gave all kinds of tv interviews attacking the administrations use of that information has turned out to be the liar.
