Iraq's Sistani Condemns Church Bombings (http://www.tehrantimes.com/Description.asp?Da=8/3/2004&Cat=4&Num=002)
"We denounce and condemn those terrible crimes... We should all be working together as a government and a people in order to put an end to the attacks against Iraqis," it added. "We stress the need to respect the rights of Christians in Iraq and those of other religious faiths and their right to live in their home, Iraq, peacefully."
Did I miss the one where he condemned the beheadings?

Nope!

You know, I tried to find where Sistani denounced the beheadings last night, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Even more strangely, Moqtada al Sadr has publicly denounced the beheadings as un-Islamic and anti-Iraqi.

Yeah, I think he's just doing the politcally-expedient thing, but he's a day late and a dollar short.
