Every day for the last week when I've logged on the Knights have been pushed into a few bases in a corner with no radar and constant higher cons.
This constitutes an effective denial of service of the game I am paying for. I pay, but am not allowed to play. It is utter bull****.
Couple that with an MA that grows ever more hostile to the types of aircraft that I like.
Add to that a game that will, every so often, pause for a second or so. I had an La-7 in a perfect killing position. One 1 second pause latter (apparently caused by a Hurri IIc that tried to HO me) I have no clue where the La-7 went and I am alone (remember, no radar or dar of any kind) against an La-7, Tiffie, Hurrie and F6F with a piece of crap Mossie.
Complete crap.

Try the CT............
-
I understand your frustration but, technically speaking, if you're allowed to switch sides is it still a denial of service issue?

Techically you are correct. Just like I could also fly La-7s.
You can guess what I think of that.

Yes...cause then you switch to Rooks and NO KILLS ALLOWED unless you are VUlching , cherrypicking , or in a FAST plane and arrive before the other 87 to the said 1 of 3 bases left.:rofl
Edit...And NO ONE would EVER THINK of changing to BISHES:lol
Unless your tarded , slow , and or both , the BISHES won'ty have you...and besides..their SHEEP Stink more than Rooks or Knights do.:lol

I salute your brave attempt to fly the plane I love, but in the MA it is out of its element.....
IF you really do wanna fly only that plane then I suggest you start grabbin ALT and use its speed for fast attacks and egress.
With ALT its a death trap to other planes, all you need is 1 gun solution with those guns:D

That's what I was doing and the La-7 was a 1/10th of a second from obliteration when the game decided to pause.

Denial of service?
I'm sorry, but you really should seek counseling.
You know, the constant cry-a-thon in this game the last week or so has become a disgusting wretch. If I was Hitech I'd just shut it off and walk away.
You are an embarrasement to the gaming community and so are your ilk.
Tonite I had a guy (WildVipr) tell me that I was playing the game wrong because I hadn't taken the town down... I asked "Can you fly a 17? Why do I have to do it?"
Then I got chewed by SEAugust because I wasn't playing stratigy tonite and was flying for points...
Ok fools, here's a heads up... Each and every one of us dumps 15 bucks a month right? SO I'll play just how I like. You want to change my style, then you can pay my monthly fee and I will follow YOUR edict... Until then, Eat my S.... Stuff.

Kurt,
You don't seem to comprehend.
-
ding ding ding...I want a clean fight..now come outa your corners purses a swinging....
-
I comprehend pretty much fine... You think you should be able to fly from a field that is under a severe attack anytime you want... You think if anyone shoots you down it is taking away from your gaming experience...
I comprehend that you need a tissue.
Seriously man Denial of service? Its a WAR game... sometimes you die... sometimes your team loses.
-
As I said, you clearly don't comprehend.

I spent the first two years I played as a Rook. For that time the Rooks were at the bottom 90% of the time.
Then I switched to Knights because I joined a now defunct squadron. For the last year it seems the Knights have pretty much been at the bottom, although lately the Bishops have joined us there.
Don't tell me about playing the disadvantaged side.

Kurt,
OK.
I have no problem losing the war. I have no problem usually losing the war. I have no problem always losing the war.
I have no problem getting shot down. I'm frankly not that good.
I do have a problem when every single time I log in the situation is always the same with us down to a few bases. Once in a while I can understand. Heck, 66% or 75% of the time I can understand.
But always being on the verge of losing the war when I log in makes it really hard for me to actually play the game.
What I'd like to see is the Knights not be on the verge of being reset every time I log in. Every time gets old.
The ever increasing numbers of La-7s are just annoying and frusterating.

It wasn't a whine, it was in a very masculine tone of voice... you just read it wrong... Imagine more of an R. Lee Ermy sound..
Better?

You know what homeboy... Come fly Bishops... Then you'll have a point. You haven't even seen suffering.

Do you have a squad now? If not...You like British planes...I'm in a squad and in a position to help maybe. If your interested:)

Tonight Rooks had over 200 players. Yes on a Tue. Night!
I think we have the law of gravity at work here.
More and more players are being frustrated. And eventually gravitate to the strong side to get a little breathing room.
Its like a cancer. It just keeps spreading. It most certianly is the worst i have seen it in the 2 years i have played. The Margin of advantage just keep climbing. Somethings gota give sooner or later.

dont tell me either im a F**KING BISH
i played knights when they out numberd.
i played bish when they out numberd.
I generaly play on the outnumberd side.
thats not what i ment anyway....all im saying is for the first time in quiet some time (err like 2months) its finaly NOT BISH IN THIS STUPID POSSITION of no fields to up from.
Every side has its ups and downs (expect rooks) and each time anyone complains the others laugh at them....now, its your turn :aok
BIG MAPS WOULD SLOW DOWN THIS PROBLEM OF ONE SIDE BEING STUCK IN THE CORNER
(that needs to be shouted......)

Yeah, the numbers thing does suck badly lately. Like MugZ said, in two years I haven't seen it this lop sided, ever.
The frustrating part for me is the fact that I have many friends on the rooks side. Now when I say "friends" i mean people I talk to, BS wish, shoot the breeze with, fly with most of all, and just have more in common with if you will than either of the other two sides. Which is why for the most part, I fly with the rooks, with mind you, not FOR. My days of flying for a certain country have long been over. I fly for fun, I fly for me, and I play this game to enjoy the company of good people around me. If any of these are lacking I will go elsewhere. (ie. another country)
We (AoM) moved to the knights last tour, attempting to do our part to even up the numbers. We aren't a big squad in comparison to others so out switch was hardly influential. What is influential however is the fact that you see squads that originated on the knights and bishop side moving to the Rooks. Squads like The Regulators, The Shiznot , and several others are among those who have moved to the Rooks when they are needed the least.
And like Mugz said, somethings going to change, budge, get better. Its only a matter of time.

its been 2 FREAKING DAYS and your moaning? come back in 6months with the same problem and i will feel for you. Im sure business will be as normal soon, with you and rooks all fighting Bish.............but i guess you will be the first to post here saying HAHAHA to Bish "whine threads"

about the whole changing sides thing, HTC should make something along the lines of this
if one (or more) side(s) ever have a perk bonus under 0.5 (ie lots of players = bad perk bonus) then people will NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN that side within the same week, only leave it. If that side then has a normal week, ie doesnt hit that same massive high, it will be open again....... I dunno.....
"normal" lopsided numbers are ok, but the numbers lately are a joke.........and an american joke at that (not funny :p)
-
why not just make it so if 1 side has like over 100% numbers the 2 lower sides get the Nuke:D

The Mossie is a very fine and capable fighter. Fly it light and stop whining. Also switch countries if you cant good fights in your current one, and no, there are absolutely no loyalty issues about switching between one silly litte computer game icon or another...
-
i feel your pain the bishs have been suffering to
and i to realy love that plane
i would say perk the LA7 but i would rather perk the 190d-9 just because im geting sick of them running from everfight
maybe using the perks would be good idea make it so no one can make perks anymore at all on the 1 side that has huge numbers that would bring a nonforce way of doing it
-
Just started a new thread on the switching topic (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125863)

There are only two fighters which regularly beat me and I have not figured out a good, or at least workable, combat method. Those would be the Typhoon and the La-7.
I kill them more than I die to them, usually, but that is really just using altitude or snap shots.
I can, if very light, give an La-7 a very good fight if he doesn't simply use his power to go into the verticle. Because they usually underestimate the Mossie they usually are willing to turn with it. If it is extremely light, it can win that fight, but it is hard.
Spitfires and N1K2s are both mostly harmless, unless they have a bit of altitude and you are on the deck. I kill way more of each of those than I die to.
-
That said, I fully plan on switching to the Ki-84 the moment it is introduced.

BS!!!
Denial of service, how rediculous will AH players get? Denial of service is when you are actually DENIED to let you play, you choose not to because of circumstances. Trying to put a legal swing on it only works with people who know nothing about common sense.
There are MANY players on these boards that I truely feel embarrassed for. I mean really, what the HELL will you people try next to bend the game to your advantage or liking?
Denial of service, good lord when you guys reach for straws you really reach around the whole planet don't you.
Next time try stomping your feet, foaming at the mouth and screaming bloody murder,... ah hell go for it,.. scream RAPE!!
THERE ARE OTHER ARENAS.
Unless you just happen to like flying with sniveling baby seals, it is contagous ya know.
-
Ok, let's get one thing straight. Anyone who has been playing AH for more than a year has probably spent their time in the bucket. Human nature says the dissatisfied are going to complain, usually loudly. Most people probably have figured out that the 'squeeky wheel' gets the oil, so again more whining. But, realize HTC does not impose restrictions on the freedom of choice of its customers, a dictatorial approach suddenly imposed on a player base accustomed to free choice would be sheer business folly. The whining from that would border on armed insurrection. All HTC can realistically do to help you is what they have already done, that is add incentives for people who choose the road less travelled (Perk multipliers, adjusted ENY values, etc).
When you take a whine, a whine that is already on thin ice because, as stated above, we've all done our time in the bucket and turn in into a legal issue on HTC's corporate website BBS, that is tantamount to a legal threat against HTC. Not only are you threatening them legally but you are indirectly inciting others suffering your plight to do the same. I think it's clear what you are experiencing is in no way, shape, or form a denial of service issue. What you are experiencing is the bottom of the bucket.
Take it from someone who had the dubious honor of climbing the steep cliff that is the learning curve of AH while at the bottom of the bucket (Rooks Mid-2002), it gets better. It gets better with or without the whining and the thinly veiled legal blustering. Trust me when I say you are not going to make it get better faster with this type of post. In fact, you are just going to make your team that much more unattractive to players who may have otherwise sympathized with you and may have chosen to come help.

-
Overlag - I agree with your big maps "shout" earlier on. :aok
Karnak, I feel your pain. I don't think I would couch it within the terms of "denial of service". Think of it instead as paying $$$ to go to the cinema, and the film turns out to be crap. You can sit through it and whine afterwards, or you can walk out part way through. Right now, I feel that the gameplay is akin to a crap movie, and have made the latter choice.
-
thats why the Germans invented the me-262. Got perks?

Half the problems in this thread could be solved by adding a range squelch option.

I agree that perk point bonus's for moving to undermanned country is probably the answer.
Moving from the least populated country to either of the other 2 should cost you roughly the same as a reset.
As for flying in the bucket, Knights have had their share & more. Its only recently the bish have joined us. Rooks are on top right now which is cool, they have spent a LOT of time at the bottom.
Thing is you either adapt, fly a different plane, go hunt the attackers. Or you log off.
When bases are getting pounded by big attack planes is some of the best flying you can find. Providing you can find a field to get up un vulched.
You may have to fly a bit farther, think a bit smarter, be a bit more carefull about who & when you attack.
But every time I've landed a 4 kill sortie in my yak9T this tour. Its been when we had our backs to the wall.
Its a Target Rich Enviorment!
Half of the battle is in your head.
The other half is adapting to the circumstances!

How do u see the stars from under the tree? Are u like, lookin on an angle? Or straight up? Or does the type of scotch matter?
What if i have a cheap scotch and a maple tree? Or beer in a cedar hedge? Tequila in a canoe?
Just wonderin.

Did you reply to the wrong thread?
Almost all of the problems in this thread could be solved by going to the CT. Why did your system "choke up" (frame rate loss?) there if you can play the MA without the same issues?
-
The problem with the CT right now is that the maps are really hostile to any mid range or lower computer. The numbers are also a constant issue and when coupled with the short icon range and lack of radar can result in long, long chases that turn out to be a fleeing friendly.
The Axis is always outnumbered and nearly always has less potent equipment.
All these issues make it an undersirable environment to play in.
