Title: While were experimenting...........
Post by: Jackal1 on August 04, 2004, 12:47:30 PM
Just curious . HT what have you got in the works to deal with the numbers imbalance?
I sort of like the idea of not being able to switch to a country if numbers reach a certain point or percentage.
It wouldn`t be an immediate cure all, but I believe it would be a good start.

Don`t know how everyone else`s experiments are going, but so far my attempt at getting some , what I consider worthwhile discussion, is failing miserably.

Jackal, I think that the number imbalance will sort itself out in time.

It has always been cyclical. Granted there is at times lately a huge imbalance, but numbers always seem to peak in the summer time.

It can be frustrating in the MA I agree, but to have HTC regulate which country you are allowed to fly in (or not fly in) would create a huge amount of ingame resentment (unfortunate...but true).

Give it some time sir.

Come to the CT for a while, it's the flavour of the month!

Cheers,

Yea, I`m sure it would eventualy even out. It just seems that it is getting worse as time goes by. Actualy it is getting to the point very regularly that for all means and purposes gameplay is not feasible, fun or possible. It started with Sunday nights , then went to MOST nights and now it is even reaching into early, early morning hours on some occasions. In other words it is blocking some of us from the gameplay we enjoy. There has to be some way that is feasible without stepping on a bunch of toes.
I haven`t been able to develop an interest in CT as of yet. Actualy I am only interested in MA "gameplay".
(Notice I am being carefull here. HT`s experiments have got me on edge. :rofl )

Dislike the idea Jackal1. But like the flip side that the high number country can change regardless of time limit.

Okie doke, but don`t think the guys with numbers will want to go beat their head against a wall so to speak. There is no incentive to do so and only a down side..

Numbers aren't all day, every day -- but the disparity is most noticeable on Sundays.

HT, is there a menaingful difference in registered users by country, or just the distribution of said users? The answer might settle some long running complaint type discussions (not that anyone would actually whine).

Actually sheer numbers increase in the winter, when the weather is bad. The number of hours logged by kids out of school is the only thing that increases during the summer. It has been this way ever since the early days of AW when I started playing.

How about varying ack accuracy and/or durability based on numbers currently logged in.  It would make it more difficult to mob/vulch a base if you have high numbers, and make it easier for perenially outnumberd countries to actually get into the air.
