I've also seen this listed as MotorVac Carbon Clean.
1. Does anyone have any experience with this service?
2. Did it work?
3. How much did you pay?
4. Were you satisfied with your vehicle performance
after you had the service done?
Here's a link: http://www.b4-u-buy.com/07a37045.htm
I have also read that the cleaning solution will clean
out catalytic converters as well.
Sound like snake oil?...post your opinions please.
Thanks,
Events.

W/ my 73 Toyota Celica, I'd occasionally take the air cleaner off and rev it while adding water in a super thin stream to the carb. The logic was that since water isn't compressible, it would flash to steam in the combustion chamber and break loose carbon that might be robbing performance in some fashion.
I haven't done it in years, but I wonder if this has any relationship?
BTW, the car ran great (because of or in spite of? I may never know) right up until the Sheriff confiscated it.

The only "snake oil" I know that really works for carbon removal is Berryman's B-12 Chemtool. I've used it and seen great results in everything with no harmful after effects.

I would not use anything to break up the carbon if it was on anything but a very new motor. Doing so on an older motor is palying with disaster. Carbon deposits to some extent helps a motor with some wear. Breaking up the carbon can cause a severe loss in compression and also, in extreme cases can cause breakage of rings and gouging of cylinder walls.
