I've created the corp and now I'm on the hunt for a good place for the HQ.
Looking for something that is fairly close to 0.3 or 0.2 space, with factories, and what not. Would also be nice to be close to Gallente or Anmar space.
At the moment, I don't have the skills to invite anyone other than Caldari, but I'm working it... Once my "Social" is at 3 and my "Corporate Management" is at 2, I should be able to train at "Ethnic Relations" and open the corp to other races.
Ishisomo 8 might be an option... I'm also looking at Iyen-Ousta.
Any investigation help would be appreciated.
Also... I need someone to train for CFO and Tactics.
-
i'll do some scouting in a few. we also need to (once we get a station) stock pile ships )merlins,Bantams,Kes...etc for the corp mates. Right now i have 2million and i can start buying ships and such for the corp. I'll send you a message ingame Sand.
-
Be sure to recruit Belle for your side. Err, is this EO? I thought it was BO. Well carry on and have fund!
-
This is where I hang out (red dot above you are here), it's a 0.6 sector with 10 Astroid fields (thus easy money killing small serpentis), this station has everything from factories to science labs.
It's also a couple of jumps away from 0.0 sectors and 2 jumps away from the starting sector of one of the Galente race. It's about 10 jumps away from Amar's emperor nest.

Can you guys post more screenshots of this game pls.
thx.

If I wanted to start a new character to join the Aces High Security Force, what race should I be?
-
I recommend Caldari.
-
Sand, I'm picking up some Corporate Mgt skills right now. You want CFO too?
Ethnic Relations is the name of multi-race corporations. It doesnt look too expensive :)
-
Yeah... I bought the book already for Ethnic Relations... just need to train up on Social and Corporate Management.
Think I'm going to need a CFO and a CTO.
Current HQ is at Perimeter 2, Moon 1, Caldari Navy Assembly Plant.
-
Bleh, closer and closer to resubscription... I was playing swg at the moment, might play both at the same time on two comps, I did DAoC PvP using two comps, this would be easier in fact :)
-
How much is the client/sub price? From the website I gather that it's 20 bucks to get the client (and 30 days of game time), but what's the monthly after that?
-Sik
-
Think it's $14.95 actually. The two week trial is extended into August Sik ;)
-
I recomend Inghenges star system or any of the systems around it.
Why?
In this system and in systems within 3 jumps from it you find:
Caille University (all skills cheap and avaliable here).
Refineries
reprocessing plants
20+ factory stations
research stations
Its in Gallente space. Borders several systems .4 and lower rating (systems with the factories and goodies are all .7 and higher rating). Also home to huge asteroid fields chockfull or scordite & rarer materials.

Let me know if you do - Ill give you your dough back.

The Corporation is now open to all races.
...and FWIW, we can have more than one corporate office. The monthly rent is 10K for each.
-
You guys went and started a corp? Looks like I'm gonna have to subscribe now. You guys are planning to be a mostly PVP corp right?
How is PvP in eve? fast paced? Or more of a one fight a night thing cause nobody wants to lose a ship?
-
the later bud.
Eve has a serious penalty system for dying.
You die you lose your ship. You die you lose skills. You die you lose your implants (extremely expensive).
All the above.
They have insurance and clones and other bs like that as money and time sinks...which makes the thing unfun imo.
Most PVP ive seen and heard of consists of people organized in groups slugging it out in fleet- like battles... which is cool until you realize you spen 95% of the time in the game doing mindless and pointless stuff to get money or just waiting for the skills to use equipment.. all for the 5% of combat time you get.

Okay... Now that I've got the Corp up, here's the mission:
The AHSF will provide security to mining operations in less than friendly space. Once we've taken out the NPC hostiles, we will be the hostiles. Consider it racketeering.
To do this, we'll need more than just fighters. We'll need to conduct some mining ops of our own at first just to build capital. We're also going to need members with the skills necessary to build our own ships and our own vessels. I'd like to focus on Caldari vessels at first, the Merlin is the frigate of choice for this type of business. So, train on Caldari frigates please. We'll also have other races involved so we can build ships Anmar or Gallente ships if necessary.
The current HQ is located at Perimeter 2, Moon 1, Caldari Navy Assembly Plant.
I'm going to work up an org chart and I'd like to assign specific roles to each member. Please give some thought to your own goals in the game and we'll make sure that whatever you do advances both your character and the corp.
-
I specialized in galente ship building. (from base atributes), anyway, I'll help out. Will see you online.
-
How do I leave my current Corp to join the AH one?
-
You can select the corp window and quit or simply join another corp and you'll be dropped from your current one.
-
Sand I submitted an App....I'm researching cruiser stuff for the next couple of days but for now I got a pretty well equiped Merlin.
Pretty good choice of base....well stocked w/ ammo!

sand what add on are you using to get so much speed out of your merlin?
-
I use afterburners. The 10m version costs more, uses about 40 units of power, and drains more from the capacitor. But it gives me a good 890 m/s when activated :D
-
Sandman, i sent an app in this morrning. My new name is "Spitfire Rider"
Im also sending my Cruiser and Hauller to perimeter, 54 system jump

A friendly word of warning. If you're planning to operate your racket in low sec empire space (0,1-0,4), you will take hits to your security rating for shooting at people. Once your rating is bad enough, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER HIGH SEC SPACE without losing your ships to the authorities. There is currently no easy way to raise your security rating.
Please bear this in mind. I've seen some good players leave the game because of difficulty in raising their security ratings after going on a killing spree in 0,4 - 0,1

Which is precisely why you create a dummy corp that members can switch to when they need to travel. Call it AHRD (Aces High Research & Development) and simply research stuff with that corp. When someone needs to run outside the system into a high security zone, they simply swap over to AHRD Inc. Because AHRD Inc has never been in a war, engagement, or even a skirmish you'll be able to pass without getting shot at.

Security ratings are set on a player level, not a corp level. If you switch corps you *keep* your security rating. If your rating is below a certain level, sentry guns and cops *will* engage you in 0,5 space and above.
Also, you can't just switch corps on an ad-hoc basis. I am pretty sure there is a 24 hour built-in delay, although I've never tried since I've been in the same corp since my 1st week in game.
The only ways to be able to shoot people in empire space with no comeback from the authorities is either:
1) In self defence i.e. the other guy fires 1st. If this happens in 0,5 and above the issue is moot, since the police or sentries will kick his arse before you can. In 0,4 - 0,1, if you fire first at someone at a star gate or space station, again the sentry guns will waste you, assuming you're not using a very exotic setup that allows you to shoot from outside sentry gun range (unlikely). In an asteroid field, planet or other orbital location in 0,4 - 0,1, you can fire 1st but you will take a personal security rating hit.
2) As part of an officially declared war. After declaring war, you have a 24 hour period before you can engage. Once the war is active, you can engage members of the enemy corp *anywhere*. This includes pod killing  The only downside is that the opposing corp can do the same to you, so you lose the security that empire space normally offers you.
Also, a lot of people view switching corps to avoid retribution as slightly dweebish behaviour. Until the 24 hour delay was introduced, switching corps to avoid a war enemy was classed as an exploit and was subject to censure from the GMs. Not so any more, but be prepared to get some stick from other players if its something you make a habit of.
Of course, once you're confident enough to move to 0,0, all of this is moot, since the only law out there is the law of the jungle. ;)

Yeah... I had that in mind... We're going to have to go to 0.0 space.
One question... If I'm classified as a "criminal" in Gallente space, will it carry over to Caldari?

Yes.
I personally think it's silly; Concord are supposed to be keeping the peace between the races and not acting as some Pan-galactic police force.

Im all set up in EVE but I am very unfamilar with how to find locations and people so if you guys could try to get ahold of me and get me to the corp that would be great. My handle is AZhiker and I am Caldari, im located in and around the Kisogo,New Caldari areas.
-
I'll track ya guys down tonight once i get off of work and drop an app. in for the corp. I kinda want to concentrate on mining/refining and manufacturing. No clue why I want to but, it seemed like a great idea after a sixer of guiness(i guess that could apply to a lot of things). Oh yeah and ...... :aok
