Sheesh, they spent 300 Million to make sp2. They should have
spent that money going after the freegin hacks that make these
wurms/viruses. Make em think twice.

I've been running it for over a month, love the new firewall.
get it here (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/winxpsp2.mspx)

I removed it about 2 mos ago.
The problems I had, for example, were getting MCafee AV to install, getting my printer recognized and a myriad of services were locked out to even the admin (all part of the security/firewall "features").
When I had enough and backed out of SP2 it brought me back to XP at a pre-SP1 level. I therefor had to install SP1 all over again. But when I did and the PC rebooted when it tried coming back up Windows would not load at all. It was gone....trashed. I ended up doing a complete reformat and reinstall of XP.
I recommend folks WAIT until they flesh out the many bugs that they did not fix before release. Let others be the guinea pigs. I usually do that but a coworker had great things to say about SP2. Well, until he too experienced major problems. But by then I was already knee deep it.

I'm less concerned with worms/viruses than I am with the endless number of bellybutton clowns hell bent to take control of my browser and sell me Viagra.

I think i'll wait for the new os to come out right now it's codename is longhorn
-
You are in for a long wait. Longhorn is a good two years away from being an OS stable enough to be used.
Unless you like 'bleeding edge' technology and then you will have to live through all the headaches that plagues every new Windows OS since Windows 1.0.

yea I know but my system with win98se will do me fin untill it comes out to the public
-
I run sp2 beta since april now, everythink worked fine,
