Title: A non political poll
Post by: J_A_B on August 05, 2004, 11:09:58 PM
Since we could use something non political every now and then, here's a lighthearted poll which is completely un-related to anything else currently being discussed in this forum.

Question:

Do your local supermarkets have hitching posts for horse traffic?

The ones I shop at do.

I hate to break it to you, but those are not hitching posts.  They are Bollards, to prevent crazed senior citizens from driving into the produce section.

Hehe you're clearly in the "no" category Lizking :)

The things near the store are bollads; they protect the storefront from stupid drivers.

The things 100 feet out in the parking lot with a row of buggies parked at them are hitching posts.  You do NOT want these near the store for a variety of reasons.

Yeah, I'm just messing with you.  There are some in some of the small towns I go to, but they are ceremonial more than used.  No Amish round here.

Some of those supermarkets sure could use better parking lot designers.  Who in their right mind would paint the parking space lines perpendicular instead of at an angle?  Makes it a chore to park.

But when I do park, I try to park next to the hitching posts.:)
