Can you say "understatement"? I considered using actual gauges in my simpit, but they range from $150-$1,500 each, assuming you can even find them in the first place.

OK if your going to go to all that trouble, why doesn't he just build the real deal and go fly it for real. Sheesh you know that guy hasn't gotten laid in a while lol.

but getting back to your orignial point given that he's in the UK there are probably quite a few guages appearing in farmers fields with the spring thaw every year.

One of them is in the UK, the other is in the USA.
Also they seem to be fabricating all the parts themselves.

Getting steam gauges to work with electronic inputs will require a lot of tinkering and servos :P
